“...So how was it?” Grandma Jo asked as I pulled out of the school's parking lot.
“Easier than I thought,” I replied. “The hardest part was leaving, but Teddy didn't seem sad at all to see me leave.”
A smile stretched across my face as Grandma Jo laughed heartily.
“I'm glad he didn't throw a fit, I'm honestly surprised by that.”
My hands were steady on the steering wheel, but my chest felt light, lighter than it had in weeks.
“Me too,” I scoffed. “He hadn’t even hesitated to join his class.”
“That's my boy,” she cooed proudly.
