“Bloody hell…”
I tossed my phone onto the cherrywood desk, and dragged a hand down my face.
Frustration…it seeped through my pores, tightening my core.
My office had always served as a comfort spot in the company, but right now, even the plush decor and the coolness from the air conditioner did nothing to tamp down the anger brewing in my chest.
“Always something,” I mumbled bitterly.
My phone screen still held the news alert like a fresh wound:
ASHBOURNE EMPIRE HEIRS ARRESTED IN SCANDAL
The weight of that headline hadn’t lifted all morning.
And although I'd practically threatened Anyta into dropping whatever case she had on Sienna and Leo, I still couldn't completely shake off the feeling that they'd perhaps done something severely terrible.
