How It Starts

"I am ready to join you." Sang-Woon type the message and sent it. He smirked and glanced out of the window while having his hot coffee as the weather was chilly and there was heavy rain. "I love the rain," he mumbled before taking another sip. "I wish you were here Soo-Yun." He said in a deep raspy voice. "I really wish I could see you right now." His heart hurt when remembered how they used to dance in the rain. It felt so good yet it was also painful like this. He missed that feeling of warmth that would flow through him. But that was not possible anymore. The cold weather made everything worse. He closed his eyes tightly to hold back any tears and sighed heavily. "I hope you are happy." He muttered quietly, still gazing at the dark rainy sky outside. Soo-Yun let out a sigh while glancing outside, she was pissed off because of Haneul and Jun-Sang. How can they enjoy, laugh, and dance in the rain? She was just standing by the door with her arms crossed over her chest. "I hate him." She growled under her breath and turned around to go upstairs. She wanted some fresh air. That was all she needed. Some fresh air and time away from those two. She entered her room and slammed the door. Her hands were balled into fists as if trying to make sure her anger wouldn't show. "f**k them!" She yelled to herself. As her eyes landed on the box which her mother gave her, Soo-Yun's eyes softened. She couldn't help but smile. Her mother was always understanding of what was going on inside her mind. "Thank you, mom." Soo-Yun stepped close to the box and sat on the edge of the bed while placing the box in front of her. Opening the box, she smiled. It held a lot of memories of her dad and family. There were pictures of her mom, father, her brother, and her. And then there was an old photo album. Opening it she began to look through. Inside was a whole lot of photos. They contained many things about their family including the good ones. All of them together. It was very beautiful and full of life. "Missed you dad." She whispered and caressed one picture before putting it back and continued looking for more. Her smile faded away as she looked at the locket which her dad gave her. Soo-Yun took it and looked at the locket for a while. It was a simple gold locket. Her name was engraved into it. She remembered how excited he was when he bought it for her. He told her it represented their special connection. Soo-Yun smiled sadly as memories flooded her mind. Memories of them laughing, being playful with each other, watching movies together, or playing video games together. Those moments were precious memories that she would cherish forever. She knew it wasn't going to last long as her dad died soon after giving her that locket. "I miss you too dad..." She cried and caressed the locket softly. The locket opened as Soo-Yun rubbed her thumb on it. Her eyes widened and flinched a little after seeing a chip in it. Was she imagining it? But no, there it was again. A small chip was in the locket. "What is this?" She murmured with a confused expression as she carefully picked it up and inspected it. "Where did this come from...?" "Soo-Yun" A loud knock startled Soo-Yun. She immediately hide it behind her as Jun-Sang entered the room. He eyed her suspiciously before sitting down. He crossed his leg in front of his knee and crossed his hands in front of him. "Are you okay?" he asked cautiously as Soo-Yun frowned. She looked down at her feet and played with her thumbs. "I'm fine." She replied in a soft voice. "Soo, what happened today?" Jun-Sang asked seriously. He had never seen her so upset. "It doesn't matter." She shook her head lightly. "Alright, tomorrow is a very important meeting," Jun-sang said and got up. "I am going to take shower." Soo-Yun looked at him blankly. "Go to your room." She replied shortly. "Are you serious?" Jun-Sang looked shocked. "No way, I'm staying with you tonight." He replied stubbornly. "I don't want you to stay." She answered. Jun-Sang frowned at her harsh words. Why does she act like she doesn't care? He hated seeing her like this. He felt sad to see her like this. He didn't know why though. Maybe he wanted to comfort her. He sighed before turning around. "Fine." He walked slowly before stopping and turning around again. "You should be nicer." He added and left her alone in the room. He knew Soo-Yun was strong and independent but he wished she would let her walls down for once in her life. Maybe this was something she needed to get through herself. A sudden phone call made Haneul groan in sleep. It was midnight, the room was in the dark as the lights were off. She grabbed the phone that lay on his nightstand and answered without seeing who is calling her. “Hello?” she said, voice rough from sleep and tiredness. “I GAVE YOU A ONE WORK AND YOU ARE SLEEPING?" A sudden yell made her sit straight. The voice sounded angry, Haneul's eyes widened slightly hearing someone talking to her in the dead of the night. "I....I am sorry Young master." She apologized for the second time since she woke up. Her heart was pounding inside her chest as she listened carefully to what the person is saying. "I told you to eyed on Soo-Yun." The person spoke in a deep raspy voice. Haneul felt goosebumps form all over her body at the sound of the person speaking in such a voice. His tone made her nervous like she didn't know how he would be angry. ‘ He must be really mad..' "Young master I-" "Shut up." He cut her. "Do not speak unless asked. I expect you to listen to me properly and follow my orders." He paused. "If anything happens, you have to die." He growled out through gritted teeth before hanging up. Haneul's hand shook violently as she clutched the phone tightly, her breathing was erratic making it difficult to breathe properly. She laid her head on top of the pillow and tried to calm herself down while listening to her heartbeat. He would kill her. No one will come to save her. No one would save her. Her mind repeats the same thing in an endless loop. She didn't move for a while. Until she finally gave up. She closed her eyes to sleep. ~ Soo-Yun glared at Jun-Sang as the meeting started. Why was she glaring at him? Because, he tell her it was an important meeting and nothing is important in that meeting. He just wanted to eye on her so she can't go anywhere.
