Chapter 4: The Things You Said
One year, you told me:
"I drink because my reality is shit."
It hit like a punch to the chest.
Because I was your reality.
Was I the part you couldn’t bear?
That sentence etched itself into me.
Like a secret tattoo. Like a curse.
Every year after that, I carried it.
never knowing the best way to interpret those words.
If I say you didn't love me then for sure I would be lying to this audience.i knew you loved me many are the times you made an effort to show this undoubtful love to me ,which I merely reciprocated because I knew you won't stay for long.
Hence attachment is what I did not long for ,yet that is what you solely represented .You were my FATHER.
A forced assignment for you maybe,
A forced responsibility,
A forced reality,
That is what I was to you l ,despite it you loved me more than anything in the world I'm forced to believe but through your actions a sometimes spiteful decisions I choose to doubt this profound love you allegedly have for me,
And in doubt I'm safe enough not to attach myself to you .With those words you bred doubt for your love to me.
