AMARA POV
I felt lifeless again. Everything happening around me was pulling me down, choking me from the inside. Him being out of my life… the messages… the fear… it was turning my head upside down.
I was walking toward the school gate, trying to clear my mind, when someone grabbed my arm so hard I gasped. I turned…and froze.
It was her.
The same girl from yesterday, I saw with him.
For a moment I thought she came for help… but her face told another story entirely. Anger. Pure anger. Burning in her eyes, sharp enough to cut through me. She scoffed before the words tore out of her.
“How much?”
I blinked. Confused. Lost.
“Huh?”
“How much were you paid to destroy him?!” she yelled, and I felt myself shrink. “Answer me!”
