Jack suggested they meet for dinner at the Red River for her “debriefing,” as he referred to it. For once, she beat him there and asked to be seated in a rear booth. When Jack appeared, he nodded approvingly at her booth choice. “So, what happened with Appleton’s finest?” he asked after sliding onto the booth’s leather bench. A waiter appeared and they ordered. “It was, I don’t know, it seemed odd to me but maybe I’m just used to how things are done here,” Morgan explained. “Let me tell you what we found and about our interview with the detective.” As she finished relating the story, their food arrived.
