Jo Beekman was born in California, raised in Southern Ohio, and as a teenager, was forcibly moved by her parents to Florida where they were looking for California weather and found humidity and enormous bugs instead. Jo started writing poetry when she was seven and has continued writing ever since. She currently shares her home with her daughter, two opinionated cats, and a large, constantly shedding German Shepherd. For some reason, she still lives in Florida despite flying roaches and hurricanes.
