As A Movie

CHAPTER - 05

" Darling a bet is a bet. And you lost it. That guy is freaking handsome. So you are coming and paying for us too." Hannah declared own her own and Emily agreed too. So I nonchalantly agreed with them so obviously movie didn't commit a sin after all. He did. And he will be dead cause of it with my very hands. That egoistic, self centered narcissistic Sam Peterson.

" Okay then." I said with a slight huff because anger still hadn't lifted up.

" So this Saturday. Time we can decide later. What do you guys think?" I and Hannah nodded in agreement to Emily's opinion.

After finishing the rest of the food we decided to go back to our homes. I found a guy near my house as street light was falling on him I recognised that person right away. He was Daniel. His house was close to mine so he often would visit me. However I knew it wasn't a random meeting. He must wanted to ask about that nonsensical text Sam had sent him.

" Daniel." I called out and ran towards him.

" Oh Amber. You have been out?" He asked me as I breathed heavily, catching my breath.

" Yeah I was just hanging out with Emily and Hannah." I replied with fake laughs in between because I was nervous about him bringing up that text any minute. I was more afraid of my poor acting to cover up so I hoped he would buy it.

" It's been a while since I met them. How about we meet them this Saturday? " he suggested to which I didn't pay attention and nodded right away.

" Umm Daniel....." I opened my mouth to tell him the whole case behind as I thought it would be best if I clear it before he bring it up. That way it will be less embarrassing.

" Yeah." I waited patiently for me to continue.

" About that text..... I.. I... I... " I tried but rather then saying anything more than I repeated I couldn't find words. I kept on fumbling.

" That text. You don't need to clarify anything Amber. I know you didn't send it." Daniel smiled at me which warmed my heart and an unknown relief washed over me.

" Exactly I didn't send it....." I started to say.

" Nick did it right." he said cutting me off in between. He laughed becuase he had known that Nick had always played pranks on us so I understood if Daniel thought he deduced it correctly and that was when an idea poped up in my had. I didn't need to correct him. I could go along with this story and pretend like Nick was the one to send that text.

And I found it a better option than giving a long explanation about whole mobile switch thing. If Daniel thought Nick was the one to send that text then this whole drama would be diminished as a prank and I won't need to embarrass myself. Nevertheless it wasn't like I was going to meet Sam again or anything so I could just skip on this explanation part.

" Yeah. Exactly. That's what I was about to say. Nick did it." I spoke as I did happy dance in my mind.

" Have you eaten anything?" I asked him.

" No I just came back from basketball court." he must be working very hard. He was sweating from had to toe. And why not he is captain of basketball team of our school and they were going to have a match with another schools in a month or so.

" And here I thought you came to meet me. " I pouted and looked away from him to which he laughed as he knew I was faking anger.

" Aww my princess." he whispered softly in my hair as he embraced me in his arms.

" Wanna join us for dinner?" I asked him while resting my head on his chest.

" Next time. My parents must be waiting for me to return. I promised to eat out with them tonight." Daniel told me before bidding me bye.

I was feeling good now. I should have met Daniel sooner he would always manage to lift my mood up. While humming to a melody I entered inside my house. I looked around for any signs of my twin brother when when I felt like something was l*****g on my leg so I looked down.

" Ahhhhhhh." I screamed out loud and literally jumped away from the puppy who was l*****g my leg.

" Nick Cooper......." I yelled. I was beyond angry or may be I was afraid more. Since childhood I am scared I was scared of dogs or puppies because when I was little once I had gone out for a walk with my mom when a dog had bitten me. I had cried bitterly that time because of the bite as well as because of that gigantic looking injection from that time on I had kept my distance from dogs or puppies.

" Ohh you are here." Nick ruffled puppy's hair while puppy looked at him cutely.

" Nick what the hell.. What this thing is doing here." I pointed at puppy with my trembling finger and anger on my face. Nick was so dead today. How dare he scare the s**t out me.

" This isn't a thing sis. It's a puppy you know." he justified like I didn't know that already. He was enjoying teasing me.

" I don't care whatever it is. Send him back. RIGHT NOW." I yelled this time which slightly shook Nick.

" Sis please let me keep him. I found him injured. He was laying on the road, I promise he won't come near you. I will keep him in my room. Please sis. Please my sweet, pretty, deadly beautiful sis. Please let me keep him." he blinked his eyes innocently at me. He had a puppy in his in hand but he was acting like a one himself.

" Okay okay. Don't give me that look. You can keep him. But the moment he comes near my room. He is out. " A smile found its way to my lips as I looked my brother baby a puppy. Nick might be a trouble maker but he had always been a big softie inside.

" Tuffy finally this ugly woman agreed to let you stay. " Nick mumbled in tuffy's ear but it was loud enough for me to hear.

" Come here you evil brat." I chased him as he rushed towards his room. And he was quick enough to lock himself in his room so I just sighed and went to room instead. Dad had Nick in the morning, he would be home by tomorrow evening. After taking a bath I threw myself on my fluffy bed and covered myself with a duvet.

Mom.

Mom, wake up.

Wake up mom.

Tears were spilling down my cheeks when I opened my eyes. I had teary eyes because of that nightmare again. My breathing was quickened and I couldn't see a single thing. My room was engulfed in darkness. I hurriedly turned on my night lamp which at my bed side table, with little light of that lamp being spread in my room I felt a weird sense of relief. Since the time I had lost my mom I wasn't able to sleep in complete dark but cause I was too exhausted today so I had forgotten to keep the lamp on.

" When will I get rid of this nightmare?! " I thought with a sad smile on my face. Because of this nightmare there had been times like these when I couldn't sleep. I gulped down half of the water from the bottle as my breathing started to get back to normal.

" Let's try to sleep again Amber. " I told myself and closed my eyes again in an attempt to sleep. I didn't realise when sleep took a toll on me and the next thing I knew was that it was morning.

I had no mood to go to school today. I was more interested in lazing around but it couldn't be helped so I took out a blue blouse and white jeans to wear. After taking a short shower I got dressed in those clothes I had pulled out of my closet. I left my hair open, wore black heels, stuffed books in my bagpack and left for school.

Chalres had gone to drop Nick to his school and I decided to walk till my school as usual. Dad knew it would be a disaster to put both of us in same school so him and I luckily had been going to different schools. I ran towards my class.

" Teacher isn't here till now. I am on time. " I muttered to myself as my breath cracked due to running. But only a few empty desks were left I heard teacher entering inside the class so without much thought I hurriedly sat on the nearest empty desk.

" You! " I gulped in shock as I saw the person I was sitting with.
