A few weeks later in the Black Claw Pack.....................................
"Alpha Max, now that you have fulfilled your dream of revenge and claiming your father's pack. What is next?" asked the Alpha King Graham Bellingham.
"Well, my father and half - brother left the pack in a financial bind. So I need to work on correcting that problem first." disclosed Alpha Max.
"I might can be of assistance in that area. I have grant money set aside for packs to build better mass transit transportation systems such as roads, highways, or buses, boats, trolleys and subways. We all need to come into the 21st century. I don't want to feel like I have stepped into a time capsule when I visit my packs. Humans shouldn't be living better than some of my people, period. Furthermore, I have grant money for start-up businesses. Please apply you and your pack members and I will give you first priority." revealed the Alpha King Graham Bellingham.
"Why are you helping me?" probed Alpha Max in a curious tone.
"Because you appeared and saved my sweet and dear cousin, Luna Falynn, further trouble from the horrible half-brother. So I want to show my appreciation. Plus, I am curious to see if, with support and guidance, you will indeed make a fine Alpha for my people. I believe you will approve the naysayers wrong." answered Alpha King Graham Bellingham with a smirk.
"Thank you!" responded Alpha Max.

A few months later in the ............................... Blue Mountain Pack.
"I would like to give you a gesture of my undying devotion to you." voiced Alpha Brett as he cuddled in bed with his mate in the packhouse.
"What is it darling?" asked Luna Falynn, looking around their personal suite.
"Open it my love!" requested Alpha Brett, smiling at his darling mate.
It was an agreement that if he ever betrayed their bond, she could dissolve their mating immediately. He had already signed it." I will lock it away in our home safe. I love you and I promise to spend the rest of my life devoted to you. I will never put another woman before you, I promise. I will never betray you."
"I don't understand! Why did you actually draw up divorce papers? Are you not happy?" questioned Luna Falynn in a panic as she looked at him about to cry.
"No! My love, I am truly happy! I just don't ever want you to be unhappy or feel trapped ever again. I want to be with you always. Your happiness is my top priority. I trust you. That is why I put in a clause that if I cheat, you leave me. I wouldn't chase after you but leave you alone in peace to heal from my hurting and disappointing you. I wouldn't follow you to the human world or back to the royal family. If I did so, I would immediately forfeit all my wealth and property to you." informed Alpha Brett, attempting to reassure her as he kissed and held her tighter.
Falynn thought back to their mating ceremony a few months ago. Her parents, in an effort to further protect her from heartbreak, had required- one promise from Alpha Brett before granting their blessing in front of the Alpha King. If their daughter ever returned home heartbroken, Alpha Brett would be forever banned from the Northern Pack territories that the royal family occupied.
She thought to herself maybe it was his way of acknowledging his pledge to her parents. "Okay! Thank you! I pray I will never have to use it! I don't believe in sharing my man for any reason. I am so in. I would rather you tell me that you don't love me anymore and release me. Then cheat behind my back."
"I know! So what are your plans for today, my love?" asked Alpha Brett, attempting to change the subject.
"I have a doctor's appointment and lunch date with an old college friend?" conveyed Luna Falynn. "Do you want me to attend with you, my love?"
"Yes please! I am a little nervous." voiced Luna Falynn. Her hopes of becoming pregnant during her first heat had not happened. The doctor wanted to do a couple more tests on her to see if any problems were on her end.
They quickly got dressed and had breakfast. As they left the packhouse, to walk to the pack hospital, one of the older omegas smiled warmly and said,"I love the way you treat each other. You're so devoted and madly in love with each other. When will the pack hear the patter of a pup's feet?"
"Soon! Soon! It hasn't even been a good year, yet!" voiced Alpha Brett, a little annoyed with his pack member for the extra pressure. He knew his mate was starting to feel sensitive about the matter.
They reached OB-Gyn ward and sat in the lobby waiting for Dr. Thea to come get them. After three hours of being prodded and poked. They were finally released to go and were informed that the results would be available in the morning.
As they walked out, the alarm went off for a rogue attack. He quickly ordered her to go to the safe house and ordered two guards to personally escort her and stay with her.
Men surrounded the fifty-five acres of land, determined not to let even a single soul escape the destruction that would follow next.
Waiting for the orders of their seniors, they were ready to loot the territory of all its valuables.
Call it treasures or women and children.
They were ready to claim everything.
With adrenaline pumping in their veins, they were ready to unleash their beasts on this innocent pack.
On the other hand, Luna Falynn was busy ordering every woman and child as well as the elderly to reach the safe room.
Her eyes took in her pack's warriors standing and defending the borders. She immediately felt confident of their victory. Then a loud roar was heard throughout the land. Everyone stopped to see the Alpha Brett's wolf, Thorne, was running using his paws and teeth, killing rogues with ease.
Thorne soon saw two pack wolves fighting off rogues and jumped into the fight. Thorne quickly killed the six rogues and took off again. Only to be surrounded by eight rogues, Thorne only looked furious and deadly. Alpha Brett just started ripping the heads off of rogues as more rogues started appearing out of the tree line.
Once they killed the last of the rogues, they raced to check on the women and children. Alpha Brett was hurt but still walking around and talking as well as giving out orders. Luna Falynn quickly took charge and took him to the doctor to have his wound looked at and cleaned.
While Alpha Brett was being taken care of the Luna Falynn and Beta Peter took care of the pack and, luckily, no one had died. They had a few injured but nothing a good night's rest could not take care of for them and their wolves. In fact, that was the case with Alpha Brett as well.
Alpha Brett was admitted to the hospital for observation and, unbeknownst to him and Luna Falynn. Dr. Thea took this as an opportunity to test his blood and administer a couple of tests. She wanted to be absolutely positive about what she suspected before she spoke on the matter.
The next morning.............................
Armed with both sets of test results, Dr. Thea approached the hospital suite that contained the sleeping Luna and Alpha. Luna Falynn had refused to leave her husband's side and had slept in a chair beside his bed holding his hand.
As she entered, so did Beta Peter. Therefore, Dr. Thea asked to speak with Luna Falynn privately in her office. Luna Falynn agreed to do so only because Beta Peter promised not to leave his Alpha's side until she returned. The two ladies promptly went to her office.
"Have a seat. I don't know how to tell you this, but I have checked the test results twice." spoke Dr. Thea in a timid voice.
"Just tell me. I can handle it. I need to get back to my mate. I don't want him to wake up, and I not be by his side." expressed Luna Falynn in a calm and soothing tone to Dr. Thea whom was also an omega.
"Your test results came back fine. You are very fertile, and you should not have any problem ever becoming pregnant." said Dr. Thea with a tender smile.
"Great! That's wonderful news! I am so relieved! I don't understand. Why do you look so nervous and upset?" voiced a happy but confused Luna Falynn.
"Yesterday, when Alpha Brett came in, I took that opportunity to test him, and he is sterile." informed Dr. Thea in a somber tone.
"That can't be. Let me see!" Luna Falynn took the paperwork and reviewed them. She couldn't believe her eyes, but the proof was their in black and white.
"Who else knows besides me and you?" demanded Luna Falynn in her strongest Luna commanding tone. She couldn't afford for this information to get in the wrong hands.
"Just me and you. I wanted to be as discreet as possible." replied Dr. Thea baring her neck in submission.
"Destroyed this paperwork and any proof of this matter. No one must ever discover this information, not the Beta or the Alpha. If any one asks you will simply say we are both healthy and capable. When the Moon Goddess decides is when it will happen. Don't worry, it will eventually come to pass." commanded Luna Falynn in a very stern voice. However, she knew Dr. Thea was an ally and would never tell a soul, but she had to make certain.
"Yes, Luna. It will never be revealed by me. You have my word." remarked Dr. Thea in agreement.
"Thank you for your discretion and loyalty. If I have to in time, I will take the blame, but for now. Let's give the blame to the Moon Goddess! Delayed is much better than never." asserted Luna Falynn more to herself than to Dr. Thea.
Luna Falynn left the office shortly afterward to go sit with her mate.
The whole time reviewing the two facts that she now knew to be true.
One, Alpha Brett couldn't possibly be the legitimate heir of the Blue Mountain Pack. True Alphas were not sterile. She knew she needed to protect his Alphahood and his ego.
She would have to accept a life without children. After much thought and tears as she sat by his side, she realized for his love she could accept a childless existence. Maybe they could adopt after a while or Beta Peter's children could just take over the pack.
She was willing to take the blame for no children as long as no one ever challenged his position in the pack. Alpha Brett was truly a good man and Alpha. He loved his pack tremendously.
