Since I’m still in wolf form, it’s easy for me to race toward the castle complex. The main gate’s closed, but that’s not a problem for my wolf. I leap over the guard wall and land in the main courtyard. From there, Wulfhelm isn’t so much a single building as a small city. Each new generation adds their own twist to the grounds.
The last building was added three hundred years ago, in honor of the final Vita. It’s a pleasure palace complete with guest quarters and a gilded ballroom. Needless to say, it’s been empty for years.
I pass through the main gate and speed toward the oldest and largest structure. Thornfield. It’s the only place where we store human food, so Talyn must have seen Jocasta here. I race through the major hallways while in my wolf form.
