Sastra wondered if she should feel frightened. Or maybe, she was still suffering the effects of concussion and her mind and body weren’t acting correctly. Shouldn’t she be terrified? Mala and Erk, the names of the bear-people. For a lot of reasons, the idea that people could turn to animals was frightening. Something she couldn’t understand. Or had she spent too much time around the Myst, aware of their incredible abilities with magic. So much that nothing shocked her anymore? Except, from what Kivan was suggesting. That in some way, she, Sastra, might have some ability with magic. She stared at the man as he sat straight, unafraid to meet her gaze and challenge her. ‘Again,’ she demanded. ‘You and I,’ Kivan refused to look away from her challenge. ‘We’re from the blood of Shifters.’
