I have work to do and I may as well get some done while I’m here. The ole ladies all say hello and the members do too. Of course I acknowledge them. It’s only polite and I am polite in a southern kind of way. Yes, at times it may be laced with copious amounts of sarcasm. Even so, I’m trying. Momma would be proud. I am lost in my designs when I notice the obnoxious scent of cheap ass perfume, or is that just plain unwashed ass? “Why are you really here?” I take a breath in slowly and count to ten to stop me from stabbing her in the eye with my stylus. “Working.” I answer as I finish drawing the latest book cover for a new, up-and-coming author. “What, by doodling, that is not real work.” I ignore her and concentrate on what I’m doing. If she wants a rise, she ain’t going to get one. N
