CHAPTER SEVEN Alison “Ali!” Hailee squealed loudly from the open doorway. “Come on in. Don’t mind the mess; we’re still unpacking. I’m so glad you could come over.” Hailee hugged her. From over her shoulder Alison could see a large, spacious living room. It might have run the length of the house. “You feeling okay?” Hailee asked, looking at Alison with a c****d head. “Sure. Yeah. Better.” Alison looked everywhere but her best friend’s eyes. She couldn’t lie to her. She wouldn’t be able to for long.
