FRIENDSHIP BEGINS

Fred's POV

Its morning already, Thank you Jesus, Let me step out of my room and see what's happening in this house, I stepped into the sitting room but there was no one there. I walked into the kitchen then i saw Joy, I unknownly smiled immediately i set my eyes on her.

Good Morning Mr Fred " Joy said"

Good Morning Joy, I replied, How was your night?

Fine sir, "She said"

You are up so early, I can see you are a hard working girl, "I said"

Am trying my best sir " she replied"

I laughed and she smiled

So what are we going to be having for breakfast, lunch and dinner today? I asked

Mrs Catherine hasn't said anything about it yet, but immediately am done with what am doing i will ask her " Joy said"

Don't worry, let me help you out with that, i will be right back, I said and zoom off

I immediately went to my parents room, greeted them and then asked my mom what we will be having for breakfast.

And where is Joy? she asked.

she is in the kitchen, " i replied" So why are you the one asking what we will be having for breakfast? Doesn't she know her Job? Mom asked.

Mom, Joy is busy and she is in the kitchen so i decided to help her inquire what we will be having for breakfast, i said.

Fred, Allow Joy do her job cos she is been paid for it, its her duty. Anyways we will be having pan cakes, fried eggs and tea for breakfast, " She said"

Alright mom, but I don't see anything wrong with me inquiry what we would have for breakfast, I said.

I went straight to the kitchen and informed Joy about moms decision and she started the preparation immediately.

I sat down in the kitchen and watched her move around in the kitchen trying to prepare breakfast.

I then decided to ask her some few questions about herself.

Joy, tell me about yourself " I said"

Well, As you already know my name is Joy, am in my early twenties, I love reading novels and if am opportuned to further my education I will love to be a writer cus of my love for novels, I lost my parents in a ghastly car accident when i was 8 yrs old and am the only child of my parents. Unfortunately after my parents died in the car accident that was when my life turned upside down. so life took me down to your house and I met you, "she said'

Well, am so sorry about the death of your parents but I don't know if I should be grateful to life or not because life actually brought you to me, Don't get me wrong but if you hadn't lost your parents at that young age, am pretty sure you wouldn't be here, " I said"

Also, I don't have any friends because i don't really have the time to keep friends, she said.

I can be your friend if you don't mind "I said"

What? you are my bosses child and that automatically means you are my boss, so how can i be friends with my boss, she said.

I smiled, you said you didn't have any friends so i volunteered to be your friend, Is there anything wrong with that? " I asked'

Well, if you say so then we are friends, Welcome to my world, she stretched out her hand to me for a hand shake,

I shook her hand and we both laughed.

If this was to be a novel, I would title it " Friends with my rich boss" she said

And we both laughed again.

I watched Joy closely and then I discovered i was beginning to enjoy her company and in just a day we were able to bond properly, Joy never sounded like she hasn't been to the university, she sounded very literate that one will think that she is a graduate. We continued our discussion until she was done in the kitchen.

I went to invite my mom and siblings for breakfast and mom immediately asked if am okay.

Fred, are you sure you are okay??

Yes mom, " I replied" Why do you ask?

Because it seems you want to turn into a maid cus i wonder why you are doing the job of the maid in this house. If you want to be a maid in this house then you can come apply, i will employ you since you don't have better things to do. " she said"

I immediately burst into laughter along side with dad cus mom was sounding really funny.

I went back into the kitchen to meet Joy.

Uhhmm Joy, Am inviting you to breakfast on the dinning table to eat together as family with mom and everyone.

Uhhhh, She said with her eyes wide open

What? " I asked"

You are automatically asking me to sign a death sentence, " she said"

How do you mean? I asked again

Well, The dinning table is not for me so just know that " She said"

I don't understand, so who is the dinning table for? " I asked"

I am forbidden to eat on the dinning table in this house, its a rule I must follow and besides how am i supposed to eat on the same dinning table with my boss, thats disrespectful " she said"

Well, i said we should eat like family and not like master and servant but its fine if you say so. " I answered"

Ohhh am famished, We will continue when am done eating but also make sure to eat something yourself ok, I will be right back" I said and left.

Okay, am right here waiting for you "she said"

Immediately I got to the dinning table, Mom asked where i was.

Fred, where went you? she asked

I was in the kitchen mom.

Doing what in the kitchen? she asked again

Well nothing much, Just having a little conversation with Joy to pass time while I wait for breakfast.

Hmmm, Fred you just arrived yesterday so whats up with you and Joy? Do you know her from somewhere? Have you both ever met before? she asked

Mom, we are just friends ok, nothing much, I said

Friends? Honey can you hear your son? Friends with his maid? Who does that? " She said turning to dad"

Can we please eat this meal in peace and very quietly? "Dad said":

Alright dad " I said"

Mom immediately gave me an unfriendly look but I ignored.
