Ups and Downs of Marriage

Chapter 3

The sunrays peeked into Nancy’s room causing her to wake up from her beautiful slumber... Had it been some other day she would have been cursing the morning to come but today was no ordinary day... It was her engagement and she had no reason to crib about today...

(Mahir, Nancy, Carl, Naira, Muna, Abeer all live in the same mansion 

But Mahir n Nancy have separate rooms now... So in the first chapter it was Mahirs room and Nancy was just sleeping there

Muna and Abeer are in a live in so they have their own room

And Carl and Naira have separate rooms too and also Preetika)

Nancy went for a shower got ready and came to Preetika’s room to wake her up

N: good morning princess, wake up, it's time for school...

P: Nanzy just five minutes

N: Ohho Pri wake up. No 5 mins

P: Ahhhh Nanzyyy! Is this how you treat such a small, innocent girl, by robbing her off her sleep?!

N: (awwing at her cuteness but got into a serious mood) You are seriously a miniature Naira! Drama Queen! Go and freshen up. Quick!  

P: ok Nanzy

(Nancy was leaving but then suddenly Preetika shouted)

P: Nanzy

N: ha bacha what happened

P: (cutely)Nanzy my morning dose??

N: awwww baby come here

She goes there they hug each other like squeezing each other and then give a peck on each other's cheek and Preetika runs away to the bathroom

Meanwhile Nancy sits on the bed and remembers the story of Preetika’s ‘morning dose’, a habit acquired from who else but the Mahir Maclery

(Flashback)

(Preetika is 3 years old)

Manan had just woken up and as usual Mahir was asking for a morning kiss and Nancy was avoiding it

Tired of arguing with the mini monster, Mahir pulled her closer from her waist and snuggled his face in her neck and shoulders 

She shivered by his proximity and lost control over her senses 

As they were engrossed in their love, Preetika suddenly barged into the room,

P: Mahi, Nanzy! What are you doing 

M: nothing baby

P: Lie! Please tell me what were you doing??

M: princess, I was actually asking Nanzy for a morning dose ( Nancy opens her eyes wide on hearing this and glares at him asking with her eyes to shut up)

P: what morning dose Mahi???

M: u know Nancys morning dose is so good, once I get it, I feel super energetic the entire day, it acts like a fuel for my body

P: oh, then Nanzy I want a morning dose too

M: ya ya Nancy give princess a special morning dose, go ahead

Nancy went ahead and hugged Preetika tight and have a long peck on her cheek making her very happy. Preetika ran back to her room

N:(angrily) Mahir Maclery... What was that??

M: what Nancy

N:don't act so innocent, In front of her, how can you say such stuff.. Ha Mahir at least think before speaking she is a small child, are you even list......

And her blabbering was cut off as Mahir slammed his lips on hers taking hers for a kiss... He kissed for a long time not letting her go, moving his hands all over her waist and sometimes neck, she too started responding and bit his lip hard as a punishment for this unwarned and sudden takeover... Finally after a long time both broke apart feeling breathless 

M: How much do you blabber!

N: Why do you always shut me up like this!

M: (smirking) That? I have got other ways too; let's try them, what say?

N: Mahir shut up and get your lazy ass working 

M: lazy ass!! Me!!! Oh I will show you after our wedding who is the lazy ass and who is the super active rabbit ok Mrs Maclery 

N: (blushing and smirking) let's see Mahir, waiting for it!!

And with this she winked at him and ran away and he looked at her vanishing figure with a smirk

(End of flashback)

Nancy was sitting on the bed smiling remembering this moment when Preetika come out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel after a bath

P: Nanzy can you please make me ready today

N: of course baby I would love too 

And she got Preetika ready, both were talking, laughing, and making weird expressions and cute pouts while chatting... As this got over both together descended down the stairs for breakfast to see Mahir cavya and Mukbhi all on the table at sharp 8am 

Nancy was shocked to see Mahir at the table at 8 am sharp as he would never listen to Nancy’s rules and would not even wake up at 9 and here he is today all ready early in the morning

N: Mahir Maclery, is this real or am I dreaming? You are ready for breakfast sharp at 8? Like seriously

C: come on Nancy! He sure couldn’t even catch a wink of sleep due to excitement of engagement

M: Carl, Are you done? It's just that I thought that I should start looking after my health now

C: Really! Health!

Abeer(A): ok guyz enough bickering! Let's start since we have to go early today for work so we can be on time for the greatest engagement in town, our dear MaNan’s engagement 

Na: Oh ya! There’s so miuch of work to do! Oh God, how will we manage?                                                                                                Mu: God! Naira chill! Don’t you know this Romeo! He must have done all the preparations from engagement to the wedding night! Right Mahir?

M: Muna, now you don’t start with this! Shut up and have breakfast 

All had their breakfast and left for work, Naira stayed back at home as Preetika had not gone to school as her timings were of evening and she could not by any chance miss her two stars' engagement...

At evening,

All were getting ready in their rooms 

Nancys dress was selected my Mahir but she was dressing up by her own as she did not like make up and heavy hairstyles and stuff like that but still se was looking ethereally beautiful

Downstairs all the guests had arrived and the elders of the family were busy welcoming them all

Soon it was time for the bride and groom to come down 

First Mahir came wearing an off white kurta.

Everyone was left awestruck looking at the Greek god like groom 

C: oh ho Mahir, Nancy would be able to control herself tonight huh....

M: (smirks) I wish she really can't

Nancy came down the stairs wearing an off white and pink skirt and crop top, with an orange dupatta. On seeing this ethereal beauty in front of him Mahir was left spellbound 

He could not even formulate any words to complement her serene beauty all he could do was to thank god for creating this angel 

He was just soaking in her beauty and she, on feeling his intense gaze on her started blushing hard, her family was happy seeing this silent romance between the love birds 

C: Mahir, Nancy is becoming a tomato now due to her blush. Stop staring!

This brings Mahir to his senses and he goes near Nancy who was still on the last step of the stairs and asks for her hand she looks at it smiles and then puts her hand in his 

He brings her upto the stage and helps her to settle down 

Ci: Nancy! You look beautiful baby!

N: thank you Aunty

Ny: yes Nancy you look fabulous tonight, my son is lucky to get such a gem in his life 

N: thank you so much aunty

Nysa went towards her and kissed on her forehead

Now it was time for the ring exchanging 

Both Manan were standing in front of each other hell nervous of what the other would think about the ring... They had both selected rings for each other and kept it a secret that would be disclosed directly on the stage 

So, first it was Mahirs turn 

He took the ring from the tray held by Carl and took Nancy’s hand and slid it on her ring finger and then kissed her hand 

She smiled seeing the ring and blushed due to his gesture

She took the ring from Muna and slid it onto his finger all the time mesmerized by the huge smile on his face which showed that he loved the ring too much.

After all this was over, all headed for dinner as a family, while our Manan was made to sit alone in a corner as they had not talked much since morning and needed some time now...

M: so Nancy tell me what you feel about the ring?

N: Mahir it's just awesome, I mean it is so so beautiful I loved it a lot, this is the best present ever! And did you like my ring?

M: of course yes it's just beautiful... And it shows us together forever for infinity 

N: I love you Mahir more than anyone on this earth can 

M: I love you too my life, till infinity ends. So, for getting such a nice ring, don't you think I should be getting a reward!!

N: what reward Mahir, I don't know anything

M: oh really

Saying this Mahir held her hand on the table and started caressing it with his thumb, slowly he removed his shoe and started caressing her foot followed by her leg upto her knees under the table and he could do this easily as she was wearing a skirt, Nancy’s breath had hitched and her heart rate had now doubled 

M: so you don't know what I am talking about?

N:(stammering) nnnn nooo

M: but I have got my own ways baby

He moved his chair near hers and held her waist that was clearly visible and pulled her closer, he moved towards her lips and just blew air on it while she just sat there frozen with her eyes closed as he was about to claim them but how can that be possible in presence of Muna and Carl

Mu: Mahir at least don’t embarrass her in front of all, get a room, there are 8 empty rooms in this house… you could use any one of them... 

C: exactly else people might get a great show

M: Show will happen if you guys leave us alone sometime... Get lost!

C: Ya YA! We just wanted to congratulate Nancy for her engagement 

M: what do you mean by congratulate Nancy it's my engagement too

Mu: Ya but Romeo look as far as I know you don’t really want our wishes, you just want your private wish from Nancy and only she can give you that, so we are wishing her only 

M: Cant you guys live without teasing me for a day??

C: I cant man! My food doesn’t digest well…Anyways congratulations Mahir and Nancy                                                                                   Mu: congratulations Mahir and Nancy... May you guyz get all the happiness in the world 

N&M: thank you Muna and Carl

C: guyz Naira has also wished both of you and she will be here with Preetika anytime now

Naira comes there with Preetika in her arms who was trying to run away to the ice cream counter

Na: Oh god! This girl is a devil! How does anyone handle her?

Mahir Nancy congratulations... I just wish you both have as many kids as the hair on your heads                                                                         N (widening her eyes): Naira what?

P: Mahi and Nanzy congrats

M&N: thank you princess 

(Preetika was still continuously eyeing the ice cream counter looking for a chance to run away from there; Both Mahir and Nancy were awed by her cute question and lean forward to peck her cheek and at the same time Preetika runs away leading to an accidental kiss between Manan)

Both widened their eyes and their friends were finding a way to control their laughter

Manan were still lost in the intense eye lock and others were finding a way to break it 

They tried a lot by screaming shouting but finally finding no other option Carl took a glass of chilled water and threw it on both of them.... With this both came out of their land, blushing hard and made an excuse of cleaning their clothes and ran to their respective rooms: the others were still laughing at this scene.
