Chapter 5

After hours of scrolling, searching, and comparing destinations, Elora finally sat upright, her eyes lighting up with something she hadn’t felt in days—genuine excitement. “I’ve finally made up my mind,” she whispered to herself, gripping her phone tightly. “This is perfect.” Her heart raced—not from fear this time, but from anticipation. Maybe… just maybe… things could be normal. “I need to tell Windsor.” She rushed out, almost colliding with him in the hallway. “Hey!” Windsor caught her by the arm, raising an eyebrow. “What’s up with the smile?” Elora beamed, her earlier tension momentarily forgotten. “I’ve found a place for our honeymoon.” “Oh wow,” Windsor said, studying her face closely. “That must be somewhere special. So… which country?” Elora hesitated for a split second, then said it. “Switzerland.” Windsor’s lips curved into a slow smile. “Yeah… that’s a very romantic country.” His gaze lingered on her a little longer than usual. “Go and pack your things. We leave soon.” There was something about the way he said it—calm, controlled—that made Elora’s excitement flicker. But she ignored it. She had to. Far away, hidden beneath layers of silence and shadow, a phone call was being made. “They’re going to Switzerland for their honeymoon,” a voice whispered into the receiver. A pause. Then another voice responded—low, calculated. “Perfect.” The line went dead. At the airport, the breeze was cool, brushing gently against Elora’s skin as she stepped out of the car. The sky stretched endlessly above them, planes gliding like silent watchers. Everything felt surreal. Exciting. Dangerous. “This way, ma’am,” a staff member said, guiding them toward a sleek private jet. Elora’s eyes widened. “This is ours?” Windsor smirked slightly. “Of course.” Inside, the jet was luxurious—soft leather seats, dim ambient lighting, everything designed for comfort and privacy. Elora sank into her seat, her fingers brushing against the armrest as if confirming it was real. “I’ve never been on an aircraft before,” she admitted, her voice filled with wonder. “This is my first time. It’s actually… really cool in here.” Windsor watched her, something unreadable flickering in his eyes. “I’ll make you enjoy life,” he said softly. But Elora didn’t notice the way his smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. As the jet soared into the sky, Elora leaned against the window, watching the clouds drift by like floating illusions. For a moment, everything felt peaceful. Too peaceful. Her mind began to wander. Back to the house. The phone call. The voice. I want the life that was meant to be mine… Elora shut her eyes tightly. “No,” she whispered under her breath. “Not now.” But the fear didn’t leave. It followed her. Quiet. Patient. Hours later, the plane descended smoothly. “Welcome to Switzerland,” the pilot announced. Elora’s eyes sparkled as she stepped out. The air was crisp, colder than anything she had ever experienced. Snow-capped mountains stretched across the horizon, breathtaking and almost unreal. “It’s beautiful…” she whispered. Windsor watched her again. Too closely. A sleek black car was already waiting for them. “Mr. and Mrs. Windsor?” the driver asked politely. Windsor nodded. As Elora moved toward the car, someone stepped forward, handing her a bouquet of fresh flowers. “For you, ma’am.” She blinked in surprise. “Thank you…” Attached to the bouquet was a small note. Elora smiled as she opened it. “Welcome to Switzerland, Mr. and Mrs. Windsor. Enjoy your honeymoon.” Her smile lingered— She gently folded the note, with a bright smile. “I'm ….happy.” The car ride was quiet. Too quiet. Snow-covered roads stretched endlessly ahead, the scenery beautiful but eerily still. Elora kept glancing at the bouquet on her lap. She turned slightly toward Windsor. He was on his phone. Typing. Quick. Focused. She leaned back slowly. They arrived at a luxurious mountain resort, hidden among the peaks. Candles flickered at the entrance. Warm lights glowed through large glass windows. It looked like something out of a dream. “Welcome,” a staff member greeted them with a bow. Inside, everything was perfect. Too perfect. Their room overlooked a breathtaking snowy valley. A fireplace crackled softly. Rose petals were scattered across the bed. Elora placed the bouquet on the table, stepping back slowly. “Elora?” Windsor called from behind her. She turned quickly, her face pale. “Windsor… I think—” But before she could finish— The lights went out. Darkness swallowed the room. Windsor approached her in the dark …..You think what?. I think I want to have s*x,Elora said softly. Elora’s heart slammed against her chest. “Windsor…” she whispered. But he didn’t respond. He pulled her to himself. And under the duvet, their shadows become one.
