I didn't look back at Yale again. The man who had practically fallen in love with his own act now seemed utterly ridiculous. With Yvonne on my arm, I straightened my back and strode out beneath the crowd's mixed and complicated gazes. The second we left the banquet hall, Sawyer hurried after us with a women's blazer draped over one arm. "Put this on. It gets chilly at night." He slipped the jacket over my shoulders. "Thanks," I said. "You were incredible in there." His eyes held no sympathy, only respect. "Want me to help deal with the mess afterward?"
