The sun had barely begun its ascent when Cassandra dashed through the city streets, her excitement tinged with nervous energy on her first day as a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital. With her mind racing and her feet moving in rhythm, she almost collided with a man striding confidently in the opposite direction. "Hey, watch where you’re going!" Cassy exclaimed, annoyance flashing in her eyes as she sidestepped at the last moment. Today is Cassy's first day at work and she is already late. Cassy's already on a rushed and many people kept on getting into her nerves. She wanted to be as pleasant as the sun today, however everything won't go as planned. The man halted abruptly, his gaze narrowing as he took in Cassy's disheveled appearance. "Excuse me? I think you’re the one who needs to watch it," he retorted, a hint of arrogance lacing his words. Rolling her eyes, Cassy huffed in exasperation. "Whatever," she muttered, brushing past him and continuing on her way. Cassy wanted to give her 100% on her first day, but if people keep on irritating her and getting on her way she may end up scowling and shouting her boss. She is looking forward for this job, since being a nurse is her dream job and working her on NYC is her parents dream for her. --- Hours later, Cassy found herself standing outside the nurse manager’s office, nerves fluttering in her stomach. She took a deep breath, rapped sharply on the door, and entered. "Come in," a voice called from inside. As Cassy stepped into the office, her eyes widened in disbelief. The man from earlier—the same arrogant stranger who had nearly collided with her on the street—was seated behind the desk, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "You!" Cassandra exclaimed, her irritation bubbling to the surface once again. "What are you doing here?" The man raised an eyebrow, a flicker of amusement dancing in his eyes. "Ah, Cassandra Greyson, isn’t it?" he said, his tone dripping with mock politeness. "I’m Dr. Cameron Hollice , your supervisor here at St. Mary’s. And you, my dear, are late." Cassy's jaw dropped in disbelief. Not only had she run into the arrogant man twice in one day, but now he was her boss. This was shaping up to be quite the adventure.
