Her Game

midnight stops

ALLISON'S POV

I'm really nervous for tonight. What if she isn't awake, what if she thinks this is stupid. 

"Ally stop thinking" Mae said. she's sitting on jakes. Max is upfront with her boyfriend Cole is was kind enough to be dragged on this adventure.

"I'm just scared what if she thinks this is stupid" I'm retreating into myself. 

"Well if she hates it then screw her ok she's not worth it" Jake spoke up. He leans up to snuggle the back of Mae's neck 

"yeah Ally you're amazing anyone would be lucky to have you" Max said turning around in her seat. 

"I know, I know but I want her to like me" the word girlfriend popped in my head and gave my butterfly's but I had to digest them because we we're pulling in her drive way. 

As we I got out I picked up a couple stones from the walk way and got on top of roof of Coles truck earing me a grunt of annoyance from him. I rolled my eyes. The stones felt like acid in my hand. I breathe in the cool autumn air and throw the rock. after a few times she looks out the window and finally sees me. I can sort of see her smile but its short lived when she backs up abruptly, followed by a loud thump. 

She appears a few minutes later in a sweat shirt and leggings and her hair is brushed now. I've got to admit her changing immediately just to look good feels so great.

"morning stranger" I'm sweating bullets.

"what are you doing here?" she said it with a smile but now I'm worried that its too late to go driving.

"we're going on an adventure sweetheart" I'm trying out a nickname for her but it doesn't have that pizzazz that it needs for her.

"are you crazy my parents will wake up and don't you have school tomorrow." I could tell she would only need one good reason to convince.

"it'll be fine and if your parents find out ill take the blame plus I don't need to go to school." please say yes.

"ok but only till three" YES I did it she said yes. I couldn't stop the s**t eating grin on my face from spreading.

She opened her window some more and scooted down the roof to the edge. She hesitated about falling off but I knew I could catch her. She jumped off and I caught her waist making sure she didn't land too hard. she was really close now. And my hands are still on her waist while hers on my shoulders. 

"GET OFF THE ROOF OF MY CAR" that was Cole and my cue to scramble off.

I helped her down and open the door for her like we did on our first date. We have to sit kind of close since Mae and Jake are being all snuggly. 

"so where are we going?" Rose leaned and whispered. I got goosebumps from her breath down my neck and completely forgot where I was. " hello Allison are you in there" she lightly knocked on my forehead bringing me back to reality. 

"yeah-" I laughed to diffuse the tension"- I'm here I'm here" i leaned over to her and whispered like she did to me " we were going to the old tree fort park." she looked excited.

After about thirty minuets we arrived at the park.  When we got out rose took a moment to take in the beauty of the fort. How its towering frame made you feel small, the way the spiral stair case wrapped around the trunk all the way to the top floor. All shrouded in darkness only illuminated by the moon. 

I grabbed her hand started walking toward the fort. We made no move to go faster. just wanting to go slow as to not ruin the moment unlike Mae and Jake who are already racing to the top or Cole giving Max a piggy back ride and spinning her like a merry go round. You could probably hear our groups laughter from a mile away but luckily this place is very isolated. 

"it amazing how did you find it" Rose ran her hand along the wooden rails.

"well Mae and I were driving around one night bored as hell and we stumbled upon this" I reminisced about the memory that seems so far away now. 

"so what do we do after this?" she said still looking around the fort.

"I don't know maybe get some slushies, get some fries, commit a crime the night is endless darling" her ears perked up when I said that. "what's wrong do you not like darling cause I can totally come up with something else if you like." I cant stop talking, someone kill me already.

"no its just my granddad used to call my grandma that, he would call her that every time I saw them. actually made me think her name was darling" she said laughing at memory, guess its her time to reminisce.

She's standing in the window sill of the fort, just bathing in the moons light. I walked up beside her put her hand in mine and leaned in my head on her shoulder. I want to kiss her but I don't want to move to fast. 

"whoa are we interrupting" Jake said while being pulled back down the stair case by Mae "homie get a clue" she said aggravated. 

"we should probably go to" Rose said while walking towards the stairs. I cant stand this anymore.

"hey wait up" I rush to her and grab her face. Her lips dance with mine as I finally kiss her. I have to stand on my toes to reach her but she makes it easy by leaning in. I move one of my hands to caress her waist and use my other to pull her neck to me. But the fact that were kissing doesn't give me butterflies, its the fact that she's kissing me just as much. 

The whistle and claps of my friends interrupt us but I don't mind cause now I can see her blushed full lips. 

"guys lets go fries and slushies" Max said already heading down to the car. Followed soon by Cole and the rest of us. 

We walk hand and hand to the car probably grinning like lunatics. I open the door for her as usual and make sure she's in before I get in.

"where to next?" Max asks. 

"Wcdonalds" Mae says while scrolling t****k. The engine roars to life and we take off. The radio is playing some really good old songs tonight. I get an idea from an old movie I watched with my sister and climb out the back window to the cargo bed and mirror that really pretty actress. 

"Ally what the hell are you doing?" Mae asked me finally realizing I'm not in my seat.

"turn up the music!" I yell over the wind. They comply and turn it full blast. Max rolled all the windows down so I can hear better. 

Max knew where to go. As we drove up to the city I could see the lights sparkling like the night sky decided to set up camp in our little corner of the world. With my arms outstretched I could feel it. Tiny drops stinging my arms. It was raining. Well it was trying to but I know it'll pour very soon but I didn't want to go back inside yet. the music, the the gasoline, the freshly cut grass, the rain it's so over whelming I cant just abandon it. Not yet. 

"Allison get inside now you're gonna get soaked!"  Rose yelled over the music. I held her gaze for as long as I could. But ultimately crawled back inside the car. 

Before I could get back in Cole threw a towel to the back seat, mumbling something about there's no way in hell I getting his seats wet. Everyone laughed at his uptightness. Rose straightened out the towel and helped me back in the car. Cole handed me another towel and going back to holding Max's hand while she drove. I wrapped myself in the towel and snuggled up to rose for warmth. and to be close to her but we aren't gonna talk about that. She put her longs arm around my shoulders and held my hand as we drove to the city.

Once we enter the city we found a Wcdonalds right away and pull to the drive-thru.

"welcome to Wcdonalds what can I get you?" I'm guessing he's not having the time of his life in there. We told him 3 large fries, paid and went on our merry way.

"so where are going now?" Rose asked me. 

"its a surprise don't worry" I raised our joined hands to my lips and kissed it gently. 

We drove to the 7-11 down the street. All of us spilling out of the clown car at once we ploughed in the door to the slushies. I felt since the cashier looked dead while sipping on his coffee. I mixed cherry,          dr. pepper and coke and rose got a blue raspberry pineapple. While waiting for the others I walked around the aisles. 

"hey stranger" Rose said she walked up beside me and bumped shoulders with me. 

"hey yourself" I'm so happy the awkwardness is kind of gone now. 

"want some?" She raised her cup to me so I could try it. I oblige and take a big gulp.

I wish I could tell her it tastes great but holy hell that is the nastiest s**t I've ever tried and I expected it to be good with the raspberry and pineapple but nope. Absolutely not. I'm currently gagging on the concoction she made while she laughing at me. laughing. And its not even a giggle, no its cackle. its a wheeze here and a snort over there. and I think I heard a dolphin at some point.

"what the hell was that" I choke out between coughs. 

"well Max and Mae told me to put a special something in the cup" she titled it toward me me and I finally looked in the cup. 

I'm gonna kill them. all of them. It was a fantastical mixture of what looks like ketchup, coffee, coke, and blue raspberry slushies. I'm gonna hurl. Why. Why on earth would they do this to me. 

"I'm sorry I didn't know you'd react that way" rose said reaching up her hand to pat my back as I coughed.

"donttouchme!" I said in a weird voice which only added fuel to her fire of laughter. My friends followed suit as they all paid. Climbing back in the car. rose kissed my cheek and held my hand again. I melted. what was I supposed to do she's just so, so something ill come up with later.

After the slushy m******e we left for our real destination.
