My Billionaire Stepbrother’s Obsession

Chapter 1

Evelyn’s Pov :

I put my clothes in the bag as I sit down on my bed.Today has been rough,parting with my friends and packing everything to move out.My mother is getting married the day after Tomorrow.

I didn’t know how to feel about it.I gave her consent because I wanted my mother to be happy. But as much as I want that,I can’t help but think of my dad.How could my mother forget about him so quickly?

I sat on my bed crying while holding my dad’s photo to my chest.

I get our suitcases out and my mother drives the car over.I still can’t believe that we are leaving this house.It holds so much memories of our family. Specially my dad’s,it hurts to leave but i know i have to.I want my mother to be happy.

After loading the suitcases,we hit the road.It takes almost 1 hour to reach.Adrain spancer whom my mother is getting married to is a billionaire and has a son about my age.I hope that we can get along.

Suddenly my mother Lauren asks“You okay,Evelyn?”

“Yeah,I am fine,mom.” I say as I look out of the window.

“I know it's hard eve,but let's be strong,okay?”

“Yeah.” I say,not wanting to talk anymore.

“You can tell me if you don’t want me to get married,you know that,right?You are my first priority.” She said as she pulls over the road and turns towards me.

“I know.It's just.. I just need time to adjust.I don't mind you getting married,mom.I love you,and I want you to be happy.I just need some time alone.”I say as I turn to her.I could see worry in her eyes for me.Not saying anything,she hugged me.I hugged her back holding her tightly.I needed that hug.

After some time,she pulls back and looks at me." I love you too,Eve.Don’t worry. He is a nice man and he will treat us just fine.I hope you guys can get along,especially you and Ashton.I have met him.He is a good child.”

“I will try.” I say as I realise my stepbrother’s name is Ashton.Well,he already sounds like a douchebag.

My mom starts the car again and in 10 minutes,we pull up in front of a mansion.It is a three story mansion.I am sorry,but who lives in a mansion in this era?!Well,it's the privilege of having money,I guess.

Suddenly a man comes out as we get out of the car.He goes to my mother and hugs her.My mother comes to me and introduces us.“Evelyn,this is Adrain.He is going to be your stepfather.And this is Evelyn.”

“It’s lovely to finally meet you,darling.Your mother always talks about you." He says as he hugs me.Though he seems to be in his 40s,he is still handsome.I would have believed if someone told me he was 32 if my mother hadn’t told me his age.

As we go inside,some servents brought our luggage upstairs.From the expensive furnitures to well furnished decoration everything screams money.

“Evelyn,your mother will show you your room.I am sorry,but your brother isn’t here to welcome you guys.He will join us at dinner,so freshen up and get some rest,dear." Adrain says as he smiles apologetically.

“It's okay.We can meet later.” I smile in return to show that I don’t mind.

As my mother brings me to a room,i am shocked cause the room is decorated with my favourite things and it is really beautiful.I sign in envy,I guess having money isn’t that bad after all.

“Do you like it,Evelyn?" My mother asks,standing at the door.

“Yes,mom.Thank him for me.I really like it." I say,admiring the room.

“I am glad.Our room is on the floor above.The room opposite of yours is your brother’s." She says sitting on the big fluffy bed.

“Okay.How old is he by the way?” I ask sitting with her.

“He is 20.You will attending the same school as him.He is in his senior year." She says taking my hand in hers.

“Tell me if you have any problems,okay?I want you to know that I love you the most.” She says cupping my face.

“I know,mom.”I say as I hugging her.”When will I start school?”

“After a few days.I will talk to Adrain about it .Now take some rest.Tomorrow is a big day after all.You have to be at my side all day.” She says as she breaks the hug and looks at me.She laughs when she finds me pouting.I am not a fan of crowds.

I am a socially awkward potato.And my mother knows that better then anyone.I didn’t have much friends either at my previous school.

“Okay.” I say as I sit up straight.She kisses my cheeks as she goes out closing the door.

After admiring and exploring the room for half an hour I take a shower and organise my clothes and things.After that,I lay on my bed thinking about everything.Adrain seemed like a nice guy.I hope my stepbrother is also like him and we can get along well otherwise,we are going to have a problem.

I fell asleep thinking about everything.My mother came to call me for dinner.As I freshen up and come to my room,I see a car downstairs.I guess my stepbrother is back.

Suddenly,I start to feel nervous.I make my way downstairs,where Adrain and my mother are waiting with another boy facing his back to me.As I make my way towards the table,I can finally see him and Holy!Is he hot.The boy looks around my age and he is extremely handsome.I find myself staring at him for a few seconds until I realise that we are not the only ones present in the room..

As I sit down , my stepfather introduces us. “Evelyn,this is your stepbrother,Ashton.Ashton,this is Evelyn.” He says as I suddenly make eye contact with my dangerously handsome stepbrother.I look away when I find him staring at me like I was an interesting thing to look at.I suddenly start to feel nervous under his piercing gaze.

“Ashton,take care of her.She will be attending the same school as you.Also,I hope that you guys can get along well.” Adrain says as he holds my mother's hand.

“Sure!Looking forward to getting to know you,sister.” Ashton says in his deep voice,which sends shivers down my spine.
