Queen of the Leprechauns, Anamaya
I could not believe what Al had just told me. The true queen has been reborn and is with the golden dragon. All my life I have been waiting for this day. Don't get me wrong, I like the power and the feeling of helping my people, but I was not made for this. My grandmother was the one who took over after the battle. She lead are people until she died then my mother was in charge until a few years ago.
My grandmother had been the head of the warriors or guards, if you will, when Eveylena was alive. She would tell my mother the stories and then my mother would tell me. I know that it was a hard time for all back then, but damn, how the hell could a man be so stupid? If a girl isn't into you, back the eff off. Oh, wait, men are stupid. Look at the world today. There are more wars than any mythical creature has ever fought.
Don't get me wrong, I like men and all. Hell, some of them are great. I married to a great one, myself, even he has stupid moments too. Jamie, my husband, is for lack of better terms, not a leprechaun. In fact he is human. Hey, even us mythical creatures take a walk on the wild side. He is one of the few humans that know about mythical creatures and he actually does not care. All he wants is what everybody wants. Peace, love, and sons. Many, many, sons.
But getting back to the true queen. Celina was born when my mother was in charge. Her mother was what you would call an adviser to the throne. I was only three at the time, so I had no clue that Celina was Eveylena reborn. Thankfully, she is and as soon as this war is over with, then she and the golden dragon can take their rightful place and end this curse.
Of course, first we have to destroy Adonmys and his psychotic army. I think that I better have some recon done. The more information that we have about this the better we can plan for the war. I think I better first get Jamie and his family to safety then get the recon done. He is going to b***h and complain about it, all well. I would rather that they are safe then be in harms way. Tonight is going to be a battle, but so is life.
After what had seemed like an hour, Jamie finally strolled in from the pub. "It's about time."
"My love, is that anyway to greet the man of the house?"
"Yes it is. Now I want you to pack a few bags and hit the road, jack."
"What happened?"
"Adonmys is starting to awaken. The true queen and king have been reborn. I want you and the family safely away from here. Head to America take a tour of the new country. I love you and want you safe."
"Like hell. I am staying here. I'll send the family, but I am fighting with you. No arguing, lass."
"Jamie, you can't fight this one. You have no idea what it will be like. I know how this battle will be. I have trained for it all my life. Please, babe, go with them. I want you safe and healthy. When this is all over with, we will be able to start on baby number two. Ian needs you."
"No. That's final. Ian can be with the family. I will not leave you."
"Dammit, Jamie. Stop being so pigheadedly Irish. I love you. Please don't make me have to worry about you too. I need you to be away from here. Adonmys will come at all who choose to fight with us. He has powers that are greater than most witches and warlocks combined. Jamie, please, do this for me. Go and protect our son."
After what seemed like an eternity, Jamie finally agreed and packed his bags. I knew this would be hard for his ego, but I think, he knew that this was for the best. Ian needs his father more than he needs me right now. Ian is four years old and so wants to be like his father. I think that if I lost either of them that I would not last much longer. It does hurt to send them away like this, I just can't take any chances. It is for the best, as they say, and yet, I feel like I am loosing them anyways.
By the next morning, Jamie, Ian and the family were on their way to America. I still call it the new country since to me it is still new, even though it is over two hundred years old. Maybe because Ireland is such an older country, who knows. Anyways, time for some recon. I need my best trackers and warriors. They can get me the information we need without delay. I guess it is time to get started.
I decided to go the war room on the fifth floor of the castle. Yes, there is a leprechaun castle. Anyways, I think the times call for it. As I waited for Serene, I looked around the room. The last time that this room was used had to be during the first war. It had served the warriors well back then and soon it would serve it's purpose again. Hopefully, this time we will win and destroy Adonmys for good.
"Am I interrupting, Anamaya?"
"No, please come in. I have a job for you and your trackers. I need to know what the status is for Adonmys reawakening. I want to also know who has joined their side and how many are there."
"About damn time. So, has Celina realized who she really is?"
"You knew?"
"Well, so did you. Don't you remember the conversation with her mother and yours? Celina's mother was one of the best royal advisers we ever had. Why do you think we never had any wars."
"Wait a minute, now that you mention it, I do remember some heated discussions between the two of them. So, that was what that was about. Damn, I really need to talk to my mother more about the past. Anyways, how long until we have the info on Adonmys?"
"Should be only two days. The caves are not that far from here. Most humans don't even know about them. Those that do, stay away from them since they are haunted."
"Good. See you in a few days. The more we have the better. Al said he'd have them here in two weeks. I want as much info as possible. Be careful Serene."
With that, Serene nodded and left. So, my family is safely away and soon Celina and Rowan will be here to take care of Adonmys for good. In three days I will meet the queen of the dragons to sign a new treaty. A new peace will form. Along with an interchange of warriors. Maybe, just maybe we can find new ways to deal with each other before the battle.
Queen of the dragons, Annalaya POV
Damn my stupid brother. He always was a dumbass. Even father hated it when he and Rowan held things from him. Of course, father always knew what they were up to. I know that he had his reasons for hiding his son. Adonmys' men were on the hunt for young Rowan. It seems that they knew from the time of his birth that he was our brother reincarnated. Those bastards must have been watching Al from the start. It was the only logical explanation.
If that wasn't it, then there was a traitor in their midst. The only one dragon who could betray them was thought to be dead. He was ruthless bastard who had challenged my father for the throne. That day was the scariest day for all of us. Our mother was sure that our father would not make it. My father was already passed his prime fighting abilities. But thankfully, the bastard had no clue how to really fight any dragon. He was all hot air and steam. More of a typical politician. Claims and promises but no way to get it done.
"Peterson, get in here."
"Yes, your highness?"
"Get me any information that you can on Adonmys and his men. I want you to also get any information you can on Donagal too. I know what the rumors are saying, but I want the truth."
