Now the day for the king's trial has finally come and people from all over the kingdom had gathered to bear witness of it.
When they were all settled, the king was presented before them to pledge an oath of sincerity. So Alonso said with a loud voice to the hearing of the people who had gathered. "Today, I, king Alonso, son of Ogden and brother to Alvalon, promise to tell the truth concerning all which I have been charged against in order to prove my innocence to both the people of Moria and those who had laid this charge against me."
Then the first counsellor who was placed in charge of the trial said. "That is well spoken of you, now the trial shall commerce." He observed a pause for a minute and continued. "Commander Oakinshield, what are the charges against the King?"
