During the morning hours the following day, king Lebental, commander Jake and the first soldier came to the throne room just as agreed. After about an hour of their arrival, they were still waiting for the second to join them but there was yet no sign which showed that he was going to be there soon.
Then a guard whom they had sent to call the second soldier entered the throne room and said to king Lebental. "My lord, the captain at the gate was unable to provide the soldier you seek. He told me that since his name was not known by any of you, it would be almost impossible to find. He even went as far as assembling all the soldiers at the gate for me to identify but from the description you gave to me about the soldier, I will say he was not among the soldiers which I saw."
