Now the day fixed for Alonso's coronation soon reached, and people from all around the country had gathered to pay honour to him though most of them were not happy that he had been crowned their ruler.
Before the crown was placed on his head, one of the counsellors read the statute and then said. "Today we the people of Moria are gathered here to crown lord Alonso king of this country for the time being just as the law demands. He shall reign as King over us till our lost king is found or his son prince Alan comes of age to ascend the throne."
"I Alonso, will protect this kingdom and its citizens, defending it from internal and external enemies, defend the poor and help those in need. This I promise to do as long as I am king of this country."
