Chapter 18As he walked back up Two Mile Hill Road and turned left into New Queen Street, with its terraced houses that were all alike on either side, Michael's thoughts were full of Louise, the girl he'd just encountered.
He'd never noticed her all that much when they were in the same class at Speedwell together; but she had really blossomed into the sort of young woman any lad would be happy to have on his arm.
Of course, the fact that she'd always been going out with Jimmy Ryman, back when they had been at school, no doubt went some way towards explaining why he'd never really paid much attention to her in those days.
