Chapter Eight

                                                                              •SOUTHSIDE•

Walking inside the school building none of the kids made it here yet so I decided to go ahead and set out the gym for practice. 

"Dude you heading to the studio after school". Chauncey asked knocking me out of my thoughts.

"Yea I got a new artist I'm working with today". I said pushing the gym doors open only to see Ariana making free throws and doing the dribbling techniques I taught them.

"Better stop looking too hard before Latisha pop up". Chauncey walking over and tapping her causing her to take out her earphones.

I watch for a few minutes until I see the conversation was getting a little heated as they were talking so I walk over there and the conversation goes silent.

"Why y'all stop talking and hey Ariana". I said looking between the two.

"Nothing man I'm out". He said mugging Ariana and she did the same before she started walking off but I grab her arm and she snatched it away causing me to look at her crazily.

Shooting a free throw I make the shot someone tapped my shoulder so I take out my earphones and turn around to see Chauncey.

"Hey wassup Chauncey". I said with a small smile but he didn't smile back.

"Don't Wassup me Ari I know them twins are southsides". He said causing me to look at him crazily.

"Excuse me don't be coming up to me telling me who my kid's father is and what makes you say that because I never slept with him". I said mugging him folding my arms.

"I know because them twins look exactly like him when he was little so you need to tell him soon or I will". He said causing me to jerk my head back.

"And who and the f**k do you think you are giving me ultimatums and s**t I'm not telling him a got damn thing because there's nothing to tell". I say slightly raising my voice when southside walks over making us stop talking.

"Why y'all stop talking and hey Ariana". He said looking between the two of us.

"Nothing man I'm out". Chauncey said mugging me and I did the same before I started walking off but He grabbed my arm and I snatch it away causing him to look at me crazily.

"What was y'all over here talking about". He asked staring at me.

"Why you all in my f*****g business don't you got Latisha to worry about". I ask mugging him and he smacked his lips looking off before looking back to me.

"That's my girl but I didn't ask you about that". He said causing me to jerk my head back with a frown on my face.

"So wait when did she become your girlfriend you couldn't stand her weeks ago so what changed ". I say stepping away from him.

"We got to talking and she a nice girl you have to be nice to her". He said causing me to scuff and start to walk off again.

"WAIT". He yelled when I was halfway across the gym.

"Can you just let me leave because I'm trying not to spazz out on you". I said looking over at him.

"Can you just be nice to her for me please Ariana". He said causing me to look at him crazily.

"How about Hell f*****g no but if she don't say s**t to me then I won't say anything to her and we'll be good and as for you lose my number". I said before pushing the gym doors and walking out.

Closing the door behind me I lean against throwing my head back to keep the tears from falling.

'Just when I thought I could have someone that's just about me'. I thought before pushing off the wall and walking to class.

|After School|

Sitting in the gym southside goes over the game play for our next game in a few weeks and I could hear Latisha talking her s**t.

"She's mad because I'm f*****g him and she's not I mean look at her she looks sad and lonely". I heard her say and I go to say something to her before I get cut off.

"Ariana don't say anything to her". Southside said and I laugh sarcastically before snatching my bag from beside me and standing up.

"Y'all see how he got her ass in check for me". Latisha said and I just shake my head walking out while dialing Chanel's number.

"Hello my favorite little sister". She said answering the phone.

"Girl I'm your only sister but girl drop the kids off at my house Tae is there". I said looking around at the parking lot walking towards my car and getting in.

"Why didn't he go to school". She asked as I started the car.

"He's got a bad migraine". I said pulling out of the parking lot.

"Alright I'm about to drop them off Chauncey is supposed to be coming over". She said causing me to roll my eyes.

"Yea definitely hurry up and drop my kids off". I said making a right turn slamming on my breaks when the car I front of me decided to turn on their signal light late to make a turn.

"Do I sense attitude let me know now cause you know I will cut that nigga off as soon as you give me the green light". She said and I could hear shuffling in the background.

"Nah no attitude I just miss my kids that's all but I'll talk to you later these people driving like SpongeBob taking his drivers test". I said causing her to laugh before we said our goodbyes.

|25 minutes later|

Pulling up into the driveway I grab my bag and cut the car off getting out before locking the door and walking up the steps to my house.

Opening the door it was quiet so that means everybody was sleeping.

Walking into the living room I drop my bag on the floor and take off my shoes. Looking over I see Tae asleep on the couch with Meadow and Rhyland cuddled into him. Going over I kiss all of their foreheads before walking to my room.

Taking a quick shower I lay on the bed throwing my phone to the side before closing my eyes.
