Chapter Eight FATAL ATTRACTIONPhoenix rode Mikaere along the water’s edge, smiling when he paused to paw the sand and kick up the surf. Droplets speckled her bare legs and the ankle boots she wore to ride. With no one to impress, she let her feet dangle and relaxed her seat.
