ALEC’S POV As I pulled the truck into the driveway, I hadn’t even killed the engine before she scrambled out of the passenger seat, slamming the door hard behind her. I sat there for a second, staring through the windshield as she marched up the porch steps, her spine completely rigid. I shook my head at the sheer attitude radiating off her. I then turned off the ignition and hurried after her to the front porch, trying to catch up. But I was too late. She slammed the front door right in my face, followed immediately by the sharp click of the lock turning. I froze, my hand hovering over the doorknob. Did she just lock me out of my own house? I rattled the handle and banged it hard against the wood. “Jenna, open this door right now!” But not a single sound came from the other side. “
