New Head

Jennie's POV

It has been almost a month since I started working in this company under Ms. Zena

She is intelligent and hardworking and I respect her for that but it seems she doesn't like me much

She gives me so much work, sometimes she will ask me to change her coffee 10 times saying it is too hot or too cold, whatever this is, it makes me feel that she is always finding fault in me..

I might have offended her in my previous life.. no matter how much I try we don't get along well.

I will see her muttering something under breath whenever I have to be around her for more than 10 minutes.

Once I heard her say

"You don't deserve him"

I don’t know why the hell would she say that, I don’t know much people here so why?

My colleagues here mostly avoid mixing up too much, they would hardly smile or say hi when you see them, and most of them keep their distance.

"Miss may i come in" I knocked at my head's door and getting the answer I entered.

Well, It's time to face the demon

"What is it now?" she said rudely.

'I never asked her for anything and have never replied to even her rude comments then what is the problem with her'

"Miss I have my final exams on the 15th of this month can I get a leave?" i inquired politely.

"How many days"

"Half month"

"What the hell! Do you think you own this company and you can do whatever you want to.. It has hardly been a month since you started working and here you are asking for so much favor if we start doing this with every employee then we will go bankrupt soon" she shouted.

"But miss.." i was about to say something but she beat me

"I can only give you 10 days and your salary will be deducted for that"

'Is this woman for real how the hell can I give my exams in 10 days'

Having no other option I replied as much politely I could "Thank you miss" and was about to leave when a man barged in.

I have never seen him before but looks like he works here and by his face expressions and body language it looks like he has an important rank here..

"Ms. Zena boss has sent a message for you" he said

"Now what have I done" she said under her breath.. Boss? I have never seen the actual president of this company but I have heard the girls in the ladies restroom talking about him, from their words he doesn’t seem one to be easy to work with but I am not judging ok..

"What are you doing here GET OUT RIGHT NOW"

I left but not before hearing

"Ms. Zena you knew what you were getting yourself into seems like you are having fun under boss's nose" he said in a low and calm voice.

As my table is in front of Zena's office I saw them both coming out after an hour

Ms. Zena looked like she has been crying for a long time.. she tried to hide her face under a scarf but I had seen her red eyes..

Not after sometime the guy who took Zena with him came back with another lady ..what is going on in here..??

After a short while he came out and stood in front of my table.. I immediately stood up nervously.

'What have I done? what have i done? are they going to fire me without telling me my mistake ..God please help me' i prayed silently.

He smiled and said politely

"No need to be nervous miss Jennie, your new head is calling you I am just here to deliver you the message" and pointed towards the office door.

Huh? A new boss?

When I entered the office I saw the new lady working on her laptop

"mm...Ma'am" i said

"Yeah come in and have a seat please"

After I was seated she said turning her attention towards me

"I am your new head, I have worked here before too but this department is new to me and the people too, I just hope we can have a pleasant future working together I am counting on you"

"Thanks ma'am" i replied

"I have heard you wanted a leave for your exams.. you can have 20 days leave starting from the 10th of this month and don't worry we won't deduct your salary"

I was shocked when she said again

"It is our duty to take care of you.. ah i mean our employees ..

Is there anything else?"

"No ma'am thank you" I stood up to leave her office

I was still confused and shocked with what happened in the last hour everything just changed but that is good Zena won't be able to ruin my mood and discourage me now..

Maybe that’s another start now..!
