The driver's side window suddenly shattered with great force. A hand reached in from outside, clutching Ulrik's rear collar, and dragged him forcefully out through the window. The broken glass was still stuck to the window frame, and as Ulrik was dragged out, it tore his suit, leaving a wound on his lower back.
The shattered glass hit Liora's eardrums with a buzzing sound. While clutching her head, she instinctively looked up and thought it was Dashiell.
But it was a stranger.
She saw Ulrik being dragged out and quickly climbed into the driver's seat, unlocked the car, and grabbed her phone to dial the emergency number.
From afar, she heard Ulrik shouting at the stranger, "Ambrose, what are you doing here?! Did Dashiell send you?!"
