CHAPTER FIVE

1021 Words
"Run Willow, don't look back, go now." That seemed like my biggest motivation as I kept running deep into the dark woods, with the moon as the only source of light. Something was chasing me, a huge figure that could devour me was after me and I could only run to save my life. My family killed in cold blood by the same monster, it was close, closer than I could imagine yet I couldn't stop running and suddenly I tripped over a stone and fell down. It looked down at me howling fiercely, its claws piercing its skin to break out, it was close but didn't touch me, only looking down closely at me trying to see through me. It stretches its hands out to raise me up, somehow I felt I could trust the monster and when I lifted my hands to take in his, a bright light shone bringing me back to reality. I struggle to keep my eyes open as I study my surroundings. "I was beginning to think you were dead." I'm surprised I'm still alive. I turned to see the figure approaching me, I shuddered in fear, I remember last night. How I begged and pleaded yet he didn't stop, I tried standing up but a sudden wave of pain flushed through my whole body especially my down part. "I'll be away for some days, do not leave this room except it is necessary most especially at midnight. The outside world is full of danger and I don't want you dead anytime soon especially by someone who's not me." With that, he left without looking back and immediately, Nina stepped in rushing towards me with a look of worry but more of shock in her eyes. Guess she didn't think I'd make it, I was in no mood of answering questions so I ignored her and headed into the washroom. Soaking myself in the warmth of the water, I examined my body. Bruises and red marks were like designs flagged on my body, my once soft skin as white as snow is now stained with marks. I sighed and scrubbed my body hard despite the pain trying to wash away his touch. I picked a short dress to wear and styled my hair into a messy bun since I wasn't leaving the room anyways. Justin, I want to talk to him, he's basically my only friend here in this wicked world. I decided to have breakfast in the kitchen with Nina so at least that way I could communicate with him. I learned a lot about Justin and Nina, we sat in the garden, my new favorite place. It was close to Kaiden's room and so it won't be an issue to come here whenever I want. "I never knew you were such a clown, Justin, you literally cracked us up." I said still laughing at Justin's last statement. "anything to capture your heart." he said staring into my eyes waiting for a response and I really didn't know what to say, it was too sudden. Days passed and Kaiden had not returned, it was always boring as I never left the room because there was no one to talk to. Justin was always unavailable doing some work and so was Nina, I would always go to the garden in the cool evening to journal down my thoughts, that was the only thing that kept me busy. I had just finished bathing and was preparing to go to bed when the door opened and closed, someone walked in. I was suddenly scared, the person tapped me and I shrieked out in fear. "shh, it's me. I know I have been really busy but I want to make it up to you." it turned out to be Justin, I sighed in relief and then a surge of anger flushed through my veins. "hmm! you abandoned me without saying a word, tell me, how do you plan on making it up to me huh?" I put on a hard face just to show him how upset I am. "do you trust me?" I nodded in response. "follow me" I put my hand in his and in a matter of seconds, we were standing on a city top. The view was beautiful. Justin took me around the city and I tried different street snacks and foods, this was definitely worth it. "Justin wow, I'll only forgive you if you promise to bring me here once again, deal?" I said stretching out my pinky finger. He locked his in mine, "deal." "now we have to go back or else Kaiden will have my head fed to the beasts." I giggled at how dramatic he said it, he's right, Kaiden ordered me not to leave the room not to mention going to another city. "why do you call him by his name? it's like you do not fear him, not even one bit." I asked, the question had been on my mind for a while now. "there are truths better not revealed." he simply replied. I decided not to think much of it since he seemed so nonchalant about it anyways. We have been walking for hours and it seemed like we were lost, "Justin, where are we? we have been walking for hours now, why can't you just teleport us back?" "I tried to but it seems like my powers don't work here, we may be lost, Willow." he said starting to worry, I was scared, we are in the middle of a dark forest with no idea of direction. "Willow, come here, I sense danger. Let's try to find a way out of here." the fear only increased as we heard footsteps running towards us and suddenly we were surrounded by beasts. Justin tried fighting them but we were outnumbered, "run, Willow, run now." he said and I didn't want to leave him there but I was so scared. I started running as fast as my legs could run. Some of them caught up to me and I couldn't run, there was no escape, this is the end.
