Call Me Master!

1050 Words
“Yes. Your brother is right Nathan, I stand with him on this one.” Clarissa Devon, Old Mistress of the Devon family household, reiterated to Zion's question. A huge frown got latched to Nathan's face; he had a sad look on. “You're always with him on everything, mother!” He grumbled. Mrs Devon appeared to want to pose a reply to his remark, but was quick to hold back her tongue—looking guilty. “Your mother is right, Nathan.” The voice came from no one but the middle aged man. Even the way he speaks exposed his stand in the mansion. ‘He's unimportant,’ Alyssa could configure. It wasn't that tough by spotting his eager eyes of attention from the rude brute who they call King of the Mafias. “bringing a total stranger back home isn't right; especially when you know the risk it involves,” His words made sense, but it was obvious that he was discretely hinting at something. With how things were gradually heading south, Alyssa wondered if she had made a mistake. Is this second heir is capable of protecting her, and was he worth risking for her goal to be accomplished? With her tear glistening on her cheeks, she sniffled. “Please don't blame Youngest Master Devon. He just wanted to help me that's all. I'm deeply sorry for causing such division. If you don't want me…I—I-I'll go.” the glitch in the climax of her statement didn't escape their hearing. Of course, with such innocent young girl shedding glistening years, and choking on her sobs, despite they didn't have heart's of compassion, but her tears and expression were enough for them to reconsider. Zion snorted. And they all heard it loud and clear. He prowled towards her. His every step reminded her of a predator slowly stalking towards its prey. The chill in his eyes still stood dominantly. Watching him, Alyssa trembled outwardly. She gasped lightly, flinging her gaze to Nathan as if requesting for his help. And he responded with an expression that told her to hang on and not worry. She felt like snorting at him—it's obvious, he's helpless as well. He couldn't do anything to his elder brother, Zion. By the time she returned her eyes, they immediately locked with icy grey ones administering a chill to her body. Alyssa opted for a step backwards, but was too late when his slender long fingers tightly grasped on to her chin. “Little one, say…” that intentional drag was frightening enough to scare even the bravest of Assassin. “who are you?” his voice was low, hoarse and…dark! Alyssa blinked rapidly, she struggled to gulp down her own saliva. By the side Nathan stood, his fists were molded into a potent grip. Even his jawline had contracted as it hardened. Oh, how she wanted to return his menacing glare with hers! But her lifelong desire depends on this death warrant she had inevitably signed. Rather, she cowered, pouring forth tears like they were easy to gush from a fountain. “What do you mean, Master Devon?…I'm no one.” she said with fear. Her voice shook with a shiver. What met her frightened reply, was Zion's slight smirk, and the threat in his eyes that promised a living hell. Alyssa's hearts couldn't help but be shaken by this sight, yet she persevered. “I really am no one, Master,” she croaked out, because the grip he had on her chin was so strong; and with every second, it tightened into an excruciating squeeze. “I'm giving you one last chance to spill the truth, or else…” Alyssa clearly perceived the threat in those words. His voice wasn't amicable at all. The tears from her eyes didn't seem to work on him. Alyssa realized that. Heartless indeed! “Sir, y—you, you're hurting me,” she whimpered painfully. Alyssa strained her sight to glance at Nathan's with begging in her eyes. It appeared to work, because just then she spotted the anger and unsatisfaction in his eyes. The muscles in his jaw, flexing toughly. “Stop this, Zion!” his unforseen action ignited a gasp from Clarissa Devon. Nathan warned through gritted teeth. His fist were filled with veins popping out in vexation. “Arghh!” Alyssa softly reacted when his squeeze tightened the more. “Are you ordering me, Nathan?” he questioned, a wicked kind of mirth in his eyes. “Just stop this nonsense already!” angered to beyond, Nathan growled out loud. Alyssa shook when his cold glare went from Nathan, to her. She met his gaze with despise in her heart when she heard him say, “What if I don't let her go, huh?” his frosty eyes pierced into her, seeing the ‘fear’ in hers. Nathan was silent for moment, then an audible sigh belonging to him echoed. “Zion, she's innocent. She's a completely innocent girl I—” “Call me Master,” it was a sudden order they did not expect coming. Luckily for Alyssa, his spine freezing stare was no longer on her, it has long shifted towards Nathan before he could finish his statement. “What?!” with brows bent downwards and a contorted features, Nathan's appallment wasn't hidden. “If you want me to let this…” he suddenly flung his attention on her again. And as always, she was never ready for it. Therefore making her breath hitch when she received the venomous look. “this stray dog of yours, go,” he completed. The vile look in his eyes exposing how intentional he had meant. What surprised Alyssa was how their mother could just stand still with a worried face without saying anything! Aren't they her sons? Nathan's inhale broke the silence after Zion's demands. Though she was still in her ‘damsel in distress’ mode. Her senses were still in sharp alert. From how things were unfolding, she could tell that Zion just wanted him to do what he depised. And it appeared Nathan despised calling the King of the Mafias, Master; when that should be the appropriate title to address him in his own house. According him the respect he deserves!
