Chapter Twenty-Four

1984 Words

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR Day Sixty-Eight Dear William, Lydia is growing more unstable by the day. One minute she’s manic, she’ll be on a high I’ve never seen before, and then she goes low. Very low. It’s hard to judge her moods and now she is gone again for another surgery. She doesn’t say that’s where she’s going, but she’s always gone for two to three days and then comes back bandaged up. She mentioned once that she’s getting medication from Mexico, and I believe that’s where she goes for her surgeries, too. I haven’t written as much because I’ve been pretty busy. I don’t know why I never assumed that if Lydia were holding me here that there might be others as well, but the truth is I never gave it much thought. Then, about a month ago, she brings in a boy. A boy who was very near death.
