My teeth grated so hard they could chip. “I was just thinking about you, and here you are,” Sabella said after she’d pulled away. “I’ve been trying to reach you.” If Viktor was uncomfortable, he didn’t show it. “Is there a problem?” he asked gruffly. “Of course not.” She pouted, swatting his arm. “But you didn’t have to vanish just because you’re married. I respect marriage… deeply.” Heat roared behind my eyeballs at the contact. I focused on tracing Viktor’s spine through his shirt. A threatening gesture for him and a calming one for me.
