Cheesecake at midnight

1180 Words
The clock on the microwave blinked 6:30 PM in bright green numbers while Jessica stood in the kitchen doorway with her arms folded. “Time to get ready and pack your bags for your dad’s,” she called out. From the living room came an immediate groan. “Ughhh. Do I have to go?” Jessica laughed softly under her breath. Carson was sprawled across the couch dramatically, controller in hand, acting like she’d just ruined his entire life. “Yeah, you do. Or your dad won’t shut up and he’ll bother me about it for two weeks.” Carson rolled his eyes but finally stood up, dragging himself toward his bedroom. Jessica watched him go with a smile. Even when he complained, he still listened. That mattered to her. The house became noisy for the next twenty minutes with drawers opening, zippers zipping, and Carson muttering to himself while he packed for the weekend. “Mom! Where’s my black hoodie?” “In the laundry basket because you leave it on the floor every day.” “Oh.” “And brush your teeth before we leave.” “I already did!” “You’re lying.” A pause. Then: “...I’m doing it now.” Jessica shook her head, smiling again. By seven o’clock she had Carson loaded into the car with his overnight bag, backpack, and favorite pillow tucked under his arm. The evening air was warm, the sky painted orange and purple while they drove across town. The ride was quiet at first until Carson finally asked, “You gonna hang out with Aston tonight?” Jessica glanced over with a grin. “Maybe.” “I knew it.” “Oh, hush.” “He likes you.” Jessica smirked. “You know too much for a little boy.” Carson shrugged proudly. “I’m observant.” She dropped him off at his dad’s place, hugged him tightly, kissed the top of his head, and reminded him to behave himself. “Love you.” “Love you too, Mom.” And just like that, she was alone again. Well… not alone for long. Jessica had left her phone charging on the kitchen counter again. The second she walked through the front door and picked it up, her eyes widened. 9 missed calls. All from Aston. “Oh my God,” she muttered, immediately calling him back. He answered on the first ring. “I’ve been calling you,” he said instantly. “I’m wondering when I can possibly come over…” Jessica leaned against the counter, grinning already at the sound of his voice. “Now. Sorry I didn’t answer too, I left my phone at home charging again. Drive on over here.” “Already leaving.” He hung up before she could even respond. Jessica bit her lip smiling. God, she liked him. Meanwhile Aston stood in front of his mirror pulling on a pair of grey Gucci sweatpants and an American Eagle t-shirt. He looked down at himself and smirked. “Gotta tease Jessica with sweatpants.” He grabbed his keys and headed out the door. The entire drive felt longer than usual. Thirty minutes. Thirty painfully long minutes. Jessica waited outside on the porch barefoot in shorts and an oversized hoodie, bouncing lightly on her toes every time headlights passed. Then finally— Aston’s car pulled into the driveway. Jessica immediately smiled. He stepped out slowly, stretching after the drive, locking the car behind him before walking toward her. The porch light hit him perfectly. The grey sweatpants. The messy hair. The confident smirk. Jessica’s eyes dropped for half a second before she looked back up at him. Aston noticed instantly. “Oh, you noticed, huh?” Jessica laughed under her breath just as he reached her, his arms wrapping around her waist while he kissed her softly. Warm. Slow. Familiar. The kind of kiss that already promised trouble. When he pulled back slightly, Jessica glanced down again before reaching out teasingly. “I’ll need this later,” she smirked. Aston nearly choked laughing. “Oh my God, Jessica.” “What?” she teased innocently. “You’re unbelievable.” "And you wore those on purpose.” “Maybe.” She grabbed his hand and pulled him inside. The second they entered her bedroom Aston looked around suspiciously. Jessica narrowed her eyes immediately. “You going through my drawers again?” “Oh shut up,” he laughed. “I was curious.” Jessica sat on the edge of the bed shaking her head while Aston stood in front of her, arms crossed confidently. Then his voice lowered slightly. “Now remove your shirt and bra.” Jessica swallowed hard. It wasn’t even just what he said.It was how he said it. Confident. Demanding. Like he already knew she’d listen. And honestly? She would. Her fingers slowly grabbed the hem of her hoodie before pulling it off. Then the shirt underneath. Then her b*a. Aston’s eyes darkened immediately. “Good girl.” Jessica felt heat rush through her entire body. “Now… the pants and panties.” Her heart hammered harder. She hated how much his voice affected her. Or maybe she loved it. Probably both. She slid everything off slowly while Aston watched every second of it, completely focused on her. Jessica was already flustered beyond belief. Aston stepped closer, brushing his hand along her hip before kissing her deeply again. The tension between them had been building all day. Now it snapped. Fast. Hungry kisses. Hands everywhere. Laughter mixed with heavy breathing. Aston finally pulled his shirt off before kicking off the sweatpants Jessica had been staring at since he arrived. Jessica bit her lip immediately. “Still teasing me?” she asked softly. “You started it.” He kissed her forehead before pulling her closer against him. Everything between them felt intense but easy at the same time. Comfortable. Natural. Like they already knew each other in every possible way. Later, tangled together under blankets with the room dimly lit and the fan humming softly overhead, Aston lazily traced circles along Jessica’s arm while she rested against his chest. Both of them exhausted. Both completely content. Then suddenly Jessica looked up at the clock. 11:00 PM. She sat upright instantly. “I’m gonna make cheesecake.” Aston blinked at her. “...Right now??” “Yes.” “You crazy or something?” Jessica laughed while climbing out of bed. “Yeah. And I want cheesecake.” Aston stared at her like she’d lost her mind. “It’s eleven at night!” “And?” “You’re actually serious.” “Dead serious.” He fell backward dramatically onto the pillows groaning. “Oh my gosh. Get two birds stoned at once, huh?” Jessica burst out laughing so hard she nearly tripped pulling her hoodie back on. “You want some or not?” Aston paused. “…What kind?” “Oreo.” He sat up immediately. “Well why didn’t you say that sooner?”
