Ways to Make Money

It was just too noisy... Elena glanced at her with a hint of helplessness. "What do you want?" Helen raised an arrogant eyebrow. "Aren't you kicked out of the Miller Family now? I think someone like you doesn't deserve to sit with me. If you know what's good for you, you should leave our school as soon as possible." "And then?" Elena raised an eyebrow. "Hmph. You should know there are only two types of students in our school. One type is rich or noble, and the other type is top of the class. Now that you're not part of the Miller Family and your grades are at the bottom, if you don't leave on your own, the school will kick you out." "That makes sense." Elena nodded. "Are you done? Can I get back to my work now?" Helen was speechless. Her attitude made it seem like Helen was the unreasonable one. Helen was thoroughly annoyed. "I'm warning you, if you..." Just as she was about to continue, the class representative stood up to collect homework. Helen's expression changed instantly. Homework? There was no way she had done it. However, Elena, who usually never handed in homework either, submitted a notebook filled with neat and complete assignments. Helen couldn't help glancing at her. "Did you just scribble something down? Afraid your parents would scold you? Oh wait, you got kicked out of the Miller Family, so who even has the energy to scold you anymore?" Her voice dripped with sarcasm. Elena looked at her. Suddenly, her eyes lit up. "What's with that look?" Helen felt a chill run down her spine. Elena suddenly smiled brightly and lowered her voice. "Hey, do you want someone to do your homework for you?" Helen froze. "W-What?" "Homework assistance!" Elena explained enthusiastically. "You don't like doing homework, right? But if you don't do it, you're afraid your parents will scold you. Isn't that true?" "Y-Yeah..." Helen nodded blankly. "Here's the deal." Elena clasped her hands together, her eyes sparkling. "You pay me, and I'll do your homework for you. I know your level, and I can even imitate your handwriting. I guarantee the homework I hand in for you will be flawless." Helen: "???" "For one day's homework, I'll only charge $150. That's nothing for you, but it'll earn you praise from both your teachers and parents. Sounds like a great deal, right?" Elena continued persuasively. "I guarantee you won't find anyone else who can customize your homework the way I can." Helen nodded instinctively. "So, daily payments or a monthly package?" Elena pressed on. "The monthly package comes with a discount. Only $3,000 for the entire month." Three thousand dollars might seem expensive elsewhere. But this was a private school. The students' monthly allowances far exceeded that amount. And Elena could imitate handwriting and customize everything. She was confident Helen could afford it. Five minutes later... "Alright, then it's settled. I'll start doing your homework tonight." Elena smiled cheerfully. Helen: "..." She was beginning to question her life choices. Wasn't she mocking Elena just moments ago? How had things turned out like this? "Oh, and if you know anyone else who needs this service, refer them to me. I'll give you a $200 referral fee for every client." Elena remained in high spirits. "I have ten slots available. First come, first served." Ten clients. Three thousand dollars each. That meant thirty thousand dollars per month. Although it was nothing compared to the million-dollar monthly debt, every little bit helped. "Fine. I'll help you find some clients." Helen replied absentmindedly. Feeling relieved, Elena returned to her studies with a smile. Suddenly, Helen felt confused. Who was she? Where was she? What exactly was she doing? After a long silence, she looked at Elena and spoke quietly. "Are you really short on money?" "Yeah." Elena answered honestly. "I really am." Helen hesitated. Then she whispered, "If you really need money, I can lend you some." Huh? Elena looked at her in surprise. Helen immediately raised her chin. "You should feel honored. The great Helen Norris is willing to help you." Elena's expression softened. Although this young lady was somewhat spoiled, she was fundamentally a good person. "No need." Elena smiled gently. "I'll figure it out myself." After saying that, she lowered her head and continued solving practice problems. Brightsun Elite High School never lacked money. To encourage academic excellence, the rewards were extremely generous. Elena had already checked. Every monthly examination awarded $5,000 to the student who ranked first. Midterm and final examinations offered rewards of $10,000. There were also various competitions organized by the school. As long as a student won an award, there would be prize money. If she could collect all those rewards, she could pay off part of her debt. Unfortunately, those amounts were still too small. To truly repay thirty million dollars, she would need other methods. Sigh... She still needed to think of additional solutions. Helen watched Elena focusing on her work. After hesitating for a while, she spoke softly. "Actually, you're much more likable now." Elena looked up. "Really?" Helen nodded awkwardly. "Before, whenever I saw you acting all weak and fragile, I felt like punching something." Elena smiled. "That won't be a problem anymore." She was no longer anyone's substitute. There was no reason to imitate Rosalie anymore. "That's good." Helen shifted uncomfortably before lowering her head and returning to the game on her phone. After all, she wasn't someone who enjoyed studying. School was simply a way to pass the time. The morning classes were packed. Elena sat upright, listening attentively. From time to time, curious gazes landed on her. Previously, Elena's grades had always ranked second-to-last in the class. The last place belonged to Helen. Elena herself had always acted as though she had given up. She either daydreamed or slept during lessons. Much like Helen, who spent every class playing games. But now... She was actually paying attention. "Rosalie, look at Elena." Rosalie's deskmate nudged her with a smirk. "She never used to study. Now that she's been kicked out of the Miller Family, she suddenly wants to improve. It's probably too late." Rosalie glanced at Elena casually. A trace of mockery flashed in her eyes. Truthfully, she had never liked studying either. But she was the true daughter of the Miller Family. And she had Williams supporting her. No matter how poor her grades were, her future was secure. But Elena? Heh. People might think Shaun Hayes was supporting her. However, Rosalie believed he only helped Elena because of the marriage contract. In reality, he probably didn't care much about her. If Shaun truly intended to help Elena Miller, would the Miller Family dare send her a bill for thirty million dollars? With just a single word from him, that bill could disappear. Yet Shaun had done nothing. That proved he didn't truly care. As long as she found a way to break off the engagement, Elena would have nothing left. Thinking about the plan Williams had discussed with her, a satisfied smile appeared in her eyes. Elena's downfall was coming soon.
