I thought I was dead. As it turns out, I was, but not for very long.
After Basil ripped off my breathing apparatus, my lungs filled with cement. I couldn"t get part of a breath. The world went truly gray, then black.
I saw two mighty beings battling, and one ripped the other from the thread of existence, but instead of disappearing, the thread fell out of the sky and joined its ally. I don"t know what happened after that, only that Maeve and Reine disappeared, and I could breathe again.
