I entered the living room stealthily, trying to avoid being noticed. However, my plan was foiled when I saw Juan talking to my dad. It had been a while since I’d last seen my dad and I was relieved to see him looking healthy and strong. Both my dad and Juan looked up as I stood near the door.
“Adriana dear, I've missed you,” my dad said, standing up to come hug me. “It's been two and a half months since I last saw you and you didn't even bother to visit me,” he scolded.
“My bad dad, I've been so busy,” I lied, trying to downplay the situation. The truth was I had been avoiding him because of my marriage to Diego.
“It's alright dear, as long as you're enjoying your new home,” my dad said with a smile.
