Pulling the Pin “Oh! Jesus! Don’t touch it; it might explode!” was not exactly something Brian expected to hear on a job site. He was the architect for the remodel of a 1940s era house in Brooklyn and the contractor had called him in to take a look at an unexpected variation found in a load bearing wall’s structure. Brian was standing with Ken, the general contractor, in the downstairs hallway amidst plaster dust and partially torn out ceiling debris when a worker came bolting down the stairs. “Ken!
