Club night

Rosa sat alone on one of the old concrete benches outside the college library, her business textbook balanced on her lap. Her eyebrows were pulled together as she reread the same paragraph for what felt like the tenth time. "Market segmentation..." She sighed. "Why does this sound harder every time I read it?" Students walked past her, laughing, eating snacks, and talking about weekend plans while she remained focused on highlighting lines with a yellow marker. Well...trying to. Her concentration was interrupted by loud voices coming from the girls' dormitory balcony overlooking the courtyard. "I swear I'm not wearing this ugly long dress!" Linda complained, holding up a black maxi dress with two fingers as if it were contaminated. Linda: “I'll look like somebody's mother." The other girls burst into laughter. "I literally told you not to buy it," Maya said between laughs. "But nooo... Miss Fashion Expert wanted to 'try something classy.'" Linda rolled her eyes dramatically. "Shut up." Another girl pointed at the dress. "Donate it." "Burn it." "Use it as curtains." Everyone laughed again. Maya folded her arms with a smirk. "Honestly, Alfonso is definitely breaking up with you." Linda gasped in fake offense. "Oh, shut up," she said, laughing. "That man isn't going anywhere." "Oh really?" Linda shrugged confidently. "Once you have s*x he'll buy you whatever you want." The girls erupted into loud cheers and teasing whistles. Rosa looked up from her book immediately. The conversation had caught her completely off guard. She wasn't judging them. She was just...surprised at how casually they talked about things she had never even experienced. Linda noticed Rosa staring. She smirked. "Oh, please." She walked over, crossed her arms, and leaned down. "Don't look at us like you've never heard that word before." Rosa blinked. "I wasn't—" Before Rosa could finish, Linda reached over and snatched the business textbook out of her hands. "Hey!" Linda grinned mischievously. "No." She tossed the heavy book onto Rosa's neatly made bed a few feet away. Rosa: “Linda!" Linda: “You're done studying." Rosa:”I wasn't done." Linda: “You are now." Rosa stood up. "I have an assignment." Linda waved her hand dramatically. "And it'll still be there tomorrow." Rosa: “It has to be finished." "So finish it tomorrow." Rosa sigh; “It—" Linda finally stopped walking around looking for a specific dress: “No excuses." Linda pointed a finger at her. "Tonight, you're coming with us." Rosa stared. "...Where?" Linda: The club." Silence. Then Rosa actually laughed. "No." Linda blinked. "No?" Linda looked at the other girls. "Did she just tell me no?" Maya nodded. "She definitely did." Linda walked closer until they were almost face to face. "Rosa." Rosa: No." Linda: It's my birthday." "And you're my roommate, And you're coming." Rosa: I'm really not." Linda narrowed her eyes. "You've spent every Friday night since school started either studying, sleeping, or reorganizing your notes." Rosa said offended: I like my notes." Linda: You color-code them." Rosa: They're easier to read." The girls burst into uncontrollable laughter. Maya wiped a tear from her eye. "I've never met someone so old at nineteen." "I'm twenty," Rosa corrected quietly. Linda pointed dramatically. "See?" Another girl shook her head. "Girl, your idea of excitement is finding a discount at the bookstore." Rosa: Books are expensive." Linda: Oh my God." Linda placed both hands on Rosa's shoulders. "Listen carefully." She smiled. "The least you can do..." "...is celebrate my birthday." Rosa hesitated. "I don't like clubs." Linda laughed: You've never been." Rosa: know I won't like them." The girls looked at her: How?" Rosa: “I just..." She looked down. "They're loud." Maya looked at her: They're supposed to be loud." Rosa: She sighed. "I don't even have anything to wear." The room went silent. Then every girl exchanged the exact same look. A dangerous one. Linda smiled slowly. "Oh..." "Maya?" Maya: “Yeah?" "Operation Make Rosa Look Like She Has A Pulse." Maya: Already on it." Before Rosa realized what was happening, the girls scattered across the room. Closets opened. Drawers slammed. Within seconds dresses started flying across the room. Another girl held up a satin mini dress. "This!" Rosa looked horrified. "...That's barely a dress." Linda: “Try this." Rosa stared. "...Do you have a longer one?" Linda froze dramatically. Then she looked toward the ceiling. "God..." osa looked down at the dress in her hands. She had never imagined herself wearing something like it. Never imagined going to a club. Never imagined dancing. It wasn't her world. At all. She took a slow breath. "...Only for a little while." The room went completely silent. Linda's eyes widened. "Wait..." She leaned closer. "Was that..." Maya gasped dramatically.Rosa sighed. "I said for a little while." The dorm erupted. Girls screamed. Someone clapped. Another jumped onto the bed in celebration. Linda pointed triumphantly. "I knew we'd break her!" Rosa shook her head with a small, reluctant smile. "I already regret saying yes." Linda wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Oh, sweetheart..." She grinned. "The night's only just beginning." ### Chapter Two The dorm room looked like it had been hit by a storm. Shoes were scattered across the floor. Makeup bags were left open. Hair products covered every desk, and someone was still looking for an earring that had somehow disappeared. **Linda:** "Girls! We are already twenty minutes late!" **Maya:** "Because somebody couldn't decide between five lipsticks." **Linda:** "Excuse me for wanting to look expensive." **Jasmine:** "You already look expensive. You just don't have the money." The room burst into laughter. Linda grabbed a pillow and threw it at Jasmine. **Linda:** "Keep talking and you're walking to the club." Meanwhile, Rosa stood quietly in front of the mirror. She barely recognized herself. The navy shirt dress fit perfectly, ending just above her knees. Her hair had been styled into soft waves, and the light makeup made her look older and more confident. She kept pulling the hem of the dress down. It didn't help. **Rosa:** "...It's still short." Linda walked over and gently moved Rosa's hands away from the dress. **Linda:** "If you pull it any lower, it'll become a scarf." The girls laughed. **Rosa:** "People are going to stare." **Maya:** "Trust me. They're going to stare because you actually look gorgeous." Rosa looked away. She wasn't used to compliments. Not these kinds. Linda grabbed her handbag. **Linda:** "Okay! Everybody ready?" The girls shouted together. **Girls:** "Ready!" --- A black SUV was waiting outside the dorm. The girls climbed in one after another, filling the vehicle with perfume, laughter, and nonstop conversation. The music started before the doors were even closed. Almost immediately, phones came out. **Maya:** "Selfie!" Everyone squeezed together. Click. Another picture. Click. Another one. **Jasmine:** "Wait! My hair looks weird." **Linda:** "Girl, your whole life looks weird." Everyone laughed again before taking another picture. Flash. Flash. Flash. One of the girls unlocked her phone and started typing quickly. **Emily:** "Let's see how much my boyfriend loves me today." Maya leaned over. **Maya:** "You're asking for money again?" **Emily:** "Obviously." A few seconds later, Emily smiled proudly. **Emily:** "Done." **Jasmine:** "What did you say this time?" Emily read the message aloud. **Emily:** "'Baby, it's Linda's birthday and I really want to look pretty tonight.'" The girls laughed. A notification appeared almost instantly. Emily gasped dramatically. **Emily:** "Two hundred dollars!" The girls screamed. **Linda:** "I need a boyfriend." **Maya:** "No, you need a rich boyfriend." **Linda:** "Exactly." Meanwhile... Rosa sat quietly beside the window. She wasn't looking at her phone. She wasn't taking pictures. She simply watched the city lights pass by. Without realizing it, her mind wandered back to something she'd been studying earlier. *A supplier sells 240 units...* She frowned slightly. "If the profit margin is—" She stopped. "No..." She mentally corrected the calculation. "If operating costs increase by twelve percent..." Her fingers lightly tapped against her knee as she worked through the numbers in her head. She didn't even notice Maya watching her. Maya smiled before gently nudging Rosa's shoulder. **Maya:** "Please tell me you're thinking about tonight." Rosa blinked. **Rosa:** "Hmm?" **Maya:** "The club." Rosa hesitated. "...Kind of." Maya narrowed her eyes. **Maya:** "You were doing homework in your head, weren't you?" Rosa stayed silent. That was enough of an answer. Maya covered her face with both hands. **Maya:** "You are unbelievable." The other girls looked over. **Linda:** "What's wrong?" **Maya:** "She's solving math problems." The entire car went quiet. Every pair of eyes turned toward Rosa. **Jasmine:** "Inside..." She pointed at Rosa's head. "...right now?" Rosa nodded innocently. "I was almost done." Linda looked genuinely concerned. **Linda:** "Girl..." She reached over and lightly tapped Rosa's forehead. **Linda:** "Are you okay?" **Rosa:** "Yes." **Linda:** "No, seriously." **Rosa:** "I'm fine." **Emily:** "Who voluntarily thinks about numbers on a Friday night?" **Rosa:** "They're relaxing." The girls stared at her. Then burst into laughter. **Maya:** "I swear you're seventy years old." Even Rosa couldn't help smiling a little. --- About twenty minutes later, the SUV slowed to a stop. The music outside was already loud enough to shake the windows. Bright neon lights flashed across the entrance of one of the biggest clubs near the college. Luxury cars lined the street. Students filled the sidewalks, laughing loudly as they entered in groups. The bass from inside could be felt before the doors even opened. Rosa looked through the window. "...There are so many people." Linda smiled. "That's the point." Everyone climbed out of the car. The cool night air mixed with the sound of music and excited conversations. People from their college were everywhere. Some were already dancing outside while waiting in line. Others were greeting friends they hadn't seen all week. A few students called out as they spotted Linda. **Student:** "Happy birthday, Linda!" **Linda:** "Thank you!" Another group walked over to hug her. Within seconds she was surrounded. Before joining them, Linda turned back toward Rosa. She walked over with a softer smile. **Linda:** "Listen." Rosa looked at her. **Linda:** "If you need anything..." She pointed to her phone. **Linda:** "Call me." Rosa nodded. **Rosa:** "Okay." **Linda:** "Don't disappear." "I won't." **Linda:** "And please..." She smiled. "Try to have fun." Rosa gave a small nod. "I'll try." She watched Linda begin to walk away. **Rosa:** "Wait..." Linda turned slightly. **Rosa:** "Where are you—" But Linda was already being pulled away by her friends. **Maya:** "Birthday girl! Come on!" **Jasmine:** "Your people are waiting!" Laughing, Linda disappeared into the crowd without answering. Rosa stood where she was for a moment. She looked around at the flashing lights... The music... The hundreds of students... Then she let out a quiet sigh. Rosa glanced around and saw couples making out on every surface—the couch, chairs, even sprawled across t where someone had spilled soda but no one cared. And then she noticed *them*. A girl—young-looking maybe 19 or 20 at most—sitting on some guy's lap like it was nothing. The guy looked twice her age: broad shoulders under a tight black tee rolled up to his elbows; short beard; intense eyes that stayed closed as he leaned back on the couch armrest smoking a joint The girl wore tiny denim shorts and a cropped tank top tied above her belly button exposing smooth skin dusted with glitter from earlier dancing The girl started moving on his lap—slow at first, grinding down in rhythm with the music, her hips rolling like she owned him. And then the sounds began. She didn’t moan loudly—not yet—but soft little breathy whimpers escaped her lips each time she lifted and dropped back onto him. A tiny *"Mmm…"* here, a shaky sigh there as pleasure built between them. But *he* wasn't quiet. The older guy opened his eyes—dark and hungry—and locked onto hers while taking a long drag from the joint. When he exhaled smoke through his nose? That’s when things changed He leaned forward suddenly, grabbed her chin with rough fingers (not mean but firm), and crushed their mouths together in a filthy kiss: tongue deep right away no warning just possession Then came his voice—low gravelly growl only for her ears: *"You feel that? Huh?"* He squeezed one of those strong hands around both cheeks of ass The man—still kissing the girl on his lap with rough, greedy lips—caught Rosa’s eye. And *winked*. Not a friendly wink. Not a polite one. A slow, deliberate, smoldering smirk that said: *You next?* Rosa immediately looked away, stomach twisting in discomfort. Her cheeks burned—not from arousal but from being objectified like that right in front of her She scanned the room again and realized something unsettling: nobody cared. Couples were making out everywhere like it was just another activity at a picnic—hand under shirts here; someone sliding their tongue into someone else's mouth there; two guys grinding against each other by the speaker while others danced around them A guy had his hand down some girl's pants openly on the couch.
