Alexis POV
We walked closer to each other through the crowded hotel space. Even though there were tons of people around us we seemed to move through easily like water flowing over rocks. We met in the middle of the room under a large hanging chandelier. I had to lift my chin to look up at him. He had a halo of light around his head. He looked even more handsome up closely.
"Hi."
"Hi."
"I'm Jake."
"I'm Alexis."
He took my hand in his and the sparks flew over my hand. He smelled like cotton candy and fresh linen. We stared into each other’s eyes for what felt like a lifetime in a moment. I could see pups we would have together; I could see our future and I was loving every minute of it.
