16 years…. 16 f***ing years and I still had no clue who wiped the Blue Moon Pack completely. The Alpha of the pack, Sebastian Lockwood was one of the fierce alphas. As the story goes, who brought down 50 rogues wolves alone while having a heavy amount of wolfsbane in his system. He died when hunters shot him with silver bullets. Still, he managed to bring down so many hunters that day. His beta and gamma were not weaker than him but every werewolf is weak against wolfsbane and silver.

They all died on that day when their Luna, my best friend, and former pack member, Arianna Lockwood ran away from there with her pup. She, I, and Elizabeth brought up together in my pack. Arianna was a beta pup but she had a luna wolf. According to our elders, his father’s ancestors belonged to an ancient line of Alphas that dominated in Arianna. She was fierce, a strong warrior, and a great leader. She was like a sister to me. After mated with Sebastian, she went to Blue Moon Pack and spent her life happily. The whole pack was in peace and was safe in the guidance of Sebastian and Arianna until that day. That was a sudden attack and everything was destroyed in a blink. A few of them survived and I welcomed them in my pack. I didn't tell them about Arianna's visit to our pack and prohibited everyone in my pack to talk about her death. It was important for the safety of her pup.

“Did you check on her?” I came out of my stance when I heard my mate, Elizabeth’s voice. I looked up and saw her coming towards me in my office. I smiled and moved my chair aside. She came and sat down on my lap and gave me a peck on my lips. She was a strong Luna and a great wife. I was in love with her since forever. Everyone said that we were fated since we started running on our feet. She had long golden-brown hair and beautiful emerald green eyes. She was still as curvy as she was before.

I wrapped my hand around her waist and pulled her closer to me. “Daniel informed me that she woke up a little while ago. She was still in pain but Daniel noted some changes in her”, I told her and she snaked her hand around my neck. She was wearing a beautiful floral dress that went to her knees showing her long slim legs.

“Do we call him back?’ she asked me and I nodded while pursing my lips into a thin line. “Her wolf didn’t surface but has revealed some of her powers. He has to come back now. That night, he also went through the same pain”, her face instantly went pale.

“What???? How????” she looked at me in shock and I sighed. “I asked the elders about this and they said that their souls are connected to each other. They will feel each other’s pain no matter how far they are”, I rubbed her arms and a tear escaped from her eyes.

“They have to be together and also near to each other. She is wolf-less but stronger than a human. I have asked Daniel to intense her training. “They are our children but we can’t do anything to soothe their pain”, she sounded broken and I kissed the top of her head from the side. “We are together in this Eli. We will come out together”, I tried to comfort her and she sighed aloud.

Suddenly I felt that someone tried to mind link me. I opened the link and heard Daniel’s voice. “Alpha… she is ready to meet you”, Daniel told me. “Bring her in my office”, I commanded him and then cut the link again.

“What is it?” Eli asked me and I told her, “She is coming”. She nodded and then stood up from my lap. “I am going to prepare some snacks for her. She must be hungry. Also, I am asking some omegas to prepare his room”, she told me and then gave me a quick peck on the lips again. I smiled and then pulled her a little closer to me. “I am hungry too”, I said to her in a seductive tone and she narrowed her eyes on me. “You have to wait”, she pushed me playfully and I laughed. She swayed her lips a little more while going towards the door. She looked back towards me while biting her lips seductively and my heart skipped a beat. She laughed and then went out. I sighed and adjusted myself a little. She always gave me a hard time.

After a while, I heard a knock on the door and gave permission to the person to come inside. Daniel opened the door and she came inside with him. “Alpha”, she greeted me while bowing her head in respect but didn’t look at me. Her head was lower that I didn’t like a bit.

“Look at me, Marie”, I commanded her and she hesitantly lifted her head up. I could see the guilt and hurt in her eyes. “Have a seat, first, Marie, Daniel”, I commanded them again while looking straight at her. Physically, she was looking better than before but her spirit was low.

“Marie… whatever happened at your 16 birthday is not the end of the world. You can be a late bloomer. So… don’t lower your spirit, pup. You are family to me and never… ever think that we will abandon you because your wolf didn’t surface”, she looked at me again and I could see the tears in her eyes. She had her mother’s eyes and it was painful to see tears in her eyes.

Daniel put his hand on her hand on armrest of the chair and squeezed a little. I stood up from my chair and went near her. I sat down on the edge of the table near her and stroked her hair. “Never looked down upon you, Marianna. You are an asset to this pack and I assure you that nothing will change. Everything will remain the same as they were before. You will start your training again from tomorrow and it will be more intense than before. You are next line beta. So…. Don’t think that anything will be easy for you”, I tried to be polite but couldn’t. Her expressions changed from confusion to shock.

“How can I be Beta, Alpha? I don’t have my wolf. It will decrease the pack’s strength”, she looked at her father and then looked at me again. “Let Augustin decide whom he wants as his Beta. I will train as you scheduled and I don’t want easy training for me. Let the training more intense and harder, I am ready for this”, she looked determined and I smiled proudly at her. She was a strong wolf and I was glad that she was not a cry baby.

“That’s what I want to listen to you, Marie. I am proud of you, pup. You can go now and meet your Luna first. She is waiting for you. Daniel… you stay”, I looked at Daniel and he nodded. She stood up and bowed before leaving the room.

“Intense her training, Daniel. Divide the training into two parts. Let her learn to fight against humans and then to wolves. You know the drill”, I stood up and he also stood up from his chair. “I am sorry to object, Alpha…. But… fighting against wolves as human?” he looked hesitant and I sighed.

“Did you notice any change in her, Daniel?” he raised his brow in confusion and I smirked. “Ask Alex and Trish to train her in their wolves form. You will see by yourself”, I went back to my chair. He didn’t say anything but I could see the worry on his face.

“Everything will be okay, Daniel. It’s important for her. O …. Yeah… and also…. He is coming back by tomorrow evening. You also have to schedule his training too”, I informed him and he instantly smiles.

“I will take care of that, Alpha”, he bowed and then went out of the room. I leaned back on the chair and rested my head on the backrest.

I mind linked my gamma, Jacob Brown who was responsible for patrolling at the borders. “Jacob increase the patrol on the borders and ask the patrollers to keep an eye on any rogue activity near our territory”, I commanded him and he confirmed the command.

I decided to go to the training ground in the morning to see what she had got now.
