Drowsing in and out, Danny barely heard the knocking. The clock showed that two hours had passed. He carefully disentangled himself from Evan and went to check the peephole. Recognizing Chris, the security guard from the house, he opened the door.
The man held up an overnight bag. “You didn’t tell me what you wanted me to pack, but I think I’ve got enough for the two of you.”
