Evan was in hell.
He’d gone through most of his life being invisible. Yet here he was suddenly the center of attention—a lot of attention. It was unnerving. No, it was terrifying.
Danny had said he should make friends. But it wasn’t that easy to just let go of a lifetime of resentment. He wanted to be angry, he wanted to rail at them for letting him grow up an outcast. But was there any point? These were just nice, ordinary people trying to make him feel welcome.
