Chapter Three

Chapter 3: The Other Realms

Mayor came in to register the new kid in town, he manages the list of people need to be registered for the national records, his wife is also with him to bring gifts for the new born baby.

"Before the celebration starts in the central, what would be the name of this little boy?" He asks as he takes a step forward to the baby carried by May in her arms like a fragile precious gemstone that may break if not held with proper care. He looks at him with adoration and motion if he can hold the baby.

"Noah" May answered as she carefully passed the little boy unto the Mayor's arms "His name will be Noah" she repeats with a beamed smile on her face.

Mayor cradle Noah on his bulky arms, His wife squeal lightly then continuously blabber on how cute the baby is. That's when Sahara broke a joke that makes the mayor and his wife blushed in full red.

"You two should make another baby soon, I'll be honored to be there" making everyone in room laughs when the couple bushed red. 

"S-shut it Sahara" that's all she can blurt out that caused another laugh from all of us. I may only be 13 but I already know a lot of stuffs that adults do. The mayor and his wife is at least in their early 40's making it possible for them to have another child, while May's parents where in late 30's. May is 16 already but because of her features she looks like a 14, and who am I to say that when I look 9 years of age. I'm small, I know, but it doesn't mean that I have a frail body like May's, I can already hunt a bear down. Sahara looks like in her mid 20's but I know that she's already an old hag who uses witchcraft to stay young as she is. 

The laughter died when Mrs. Cowell gained consciousness, Sahara attend to her needs to recover from the fatigue of giving birth while Mr. Cowell and Mrs. Atkins (mayor's wife) become her assistants. May and the Mayor go through the finalization of the registration form as for the name and more information needed to be filled up.

 "Can I see my baby?" Mrs. Cowell said when she can fully sit on her bed. May immediately bring the baby and the sight of me is a perfect sample of a happy family, I can't help but stare at them with awe. "What did you name him?" she asks and May answered her without hesitation "It's Noah, I came up with it from Niah's name, I want him to be like responsible like her, will that name do? mother?" my heart flutters again when I heard her answer.

"Yes, it's a beautiful name" she looks towards my direction giving me a small warm smile making me blushed under her gaze, she returned her attention to her new born baby when Father Loiue came to blessed the new born. Ahhhh geez this scenario in front of me is making me teary and crave for a Family love. 

"Welcome to the Christian world our dear Noah L. Cowell"

After the blessing, Mayor, Mr and Mrs Cowell talks about the registration to be passed in the National Records. They signed maybe four to six pages of documents before Mr. Atkins bid his goodbye to look after the preparation in the central. 

Father Louie had a small talk with Sahara and Mr. Cowell they talk about stuffs that will be done for the feast, its a common norm in this village to celebrate the newcomers or newborns, its like a tradition already. Having a festive and gatherings is the best time in this small village. 

After an hour or so, when Mrs. Cowell already gain her strength back, we head to the central to join the festive. The town folks give their offering of gifts to the new child and most of the elderly blessed him with lots and lots of good lucks and support.

It's fun to be part of something like this being what we are, well I'm still a human but Sahara is ahm never mind.

I look at her direction wherein she was dancing happily with the young girls in the bonfire. She sways with elegance despite of the music being a joyful and crazy beatings. 

"Sahara! Do a moon dance with your little apprentice!" one of the elders shouted. Moon Dance is either a praising dance or a worship for the moon goddess who gave powers to the witches, wolves, vampires and other beings.  Its like a ritual dance, when you dance the best, the moon will glow her light on you and there's a saying that if you please the moon goddess through this dance she'll give you  vision for a better path you need for the future. 

"Come here Niah, let's do dance" Sahara held her hand on me and I obliged. 

wait? what?! no!  I haven't perfected it and I can't even remember every steps! 

I was so nervous as I walk towards the bonfire, I tried to relax my breathing but it was useless, my mind is going numb because of nervousness. All eyes were on us, will I do it good? or will I just embarrass myself in front of this crowd?

We start to dance, as I make a move, the nervousness is slipping my body like the wind is relaxing my tensed muscle, giving ease in my system. I stretch my arms and feel the beating of my heart, everything feels like in a slow motion, I started to move fluidly and sway with the wind, dance myself through the beating of my heart, it calms me, as I closed my eyes, I heard a loud of applause making me go back to the reality. 

I look at Sahara's direction and she gives a smile of encouragement before enclosing me in a warm hug. 

We bid our goodbyes after that because we still have a long way run before we get home.

We walk silently side by side when Sahara broke the silence between us.

"Do you know that there are other realms other than this?" she asks me

"Yes I do, this is the human realm, the other one is the Magus Realm were humans are treated as blood bags of vampires, slaves of wolves and such?" I answered, I read it from one of the books in her library in the attic.

"You're right, but other than that is Void Realm or also known as the dark realm, its not that because they are bad but because the Sun there doesn't shine like the other realms, most of beings that are there are witch, sorcerer and Voids. while the Spirit Realm is the realm wherein no one can enter without the permission from the Spirit King, but you should know that we do build contracts to the spirit to become our familiar but we cannot order them to bring us in their world because that is a taboo" she explained as we reached the doorstep of our house.

"But I haven't read anything about those!!" I complained and she just laughed with my expression as she go upstairs,

"That's not fair! I wanna know more!" I whined as I follow her to her room

"Sleep for tonight and I'll teach you more tomorrow" and prick my forehead making me pout. " You need a rest for tonight, rest is essential for us to have a free mind to able to control our power when we are enchanting a spell, so rest for now and you'll know more tomorrow" she smiled sweetly and kissed my forehead " goodnight and have a good dreams" then closed her room's door. 

"That's not fair!" I stomped my feet as I run towards my room, excited for the things that I will learn tomorrow. 

But because of too much excitement about what will I learn for tomorrow I cannot help but roll over my bed for over half an hour and I didn't know when I drifted to my sleep.

 My alarm haven't even rang when I woke up, I'm feeling flustered all over my body, I dunno why but I'm excited for the day, like something exciting will happen, like I'll learn new things that will add to my knowledge, I admit I'm a geek who loves learning new things and just the thought of it is making me shriek in joy and excitement!

"Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" I screamed loudly as I roll over in my twin-sized bed, thus excitement is killing my hormones! Which realm should I study first? Does the other realm also connect in our Mortal World? What do other creatures look like? does some of them also have a human form? Can I form a bond or contract with them? can I make them my familiar?

I roam around my eyes in my square room, its quite big for my size, the lower walls is made of wooden planks with maroon varnish and the upper wall have a cream white wallpaper with significant carving design of gold and green, with uh lettering and symbol for rituals of the house protection but it doesn't look out of place at all, the corners have a pillars with vines that doesn't withered and have a flowers bloom depending on the season. 

It's quite antic and magical at the same time, On my left is a floor length mirror beside the door, and another door beside it that leads to the bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe, a shelves from ceiling to floor in front of me and a small tea table set, and a bean bag, a maroon red carpet floor. On my right is a big window with a small sofa bed beside it and another shelves on its window frame. 

My wandering stops when I heard a knock from the door that makes me sits up and fixed my hair,

"Come in" I simply answered knowing it is Sahara

"I heard the shrieking and I kinda expect what is it about so why don't you come and help me prepare breakfast?" Sahara says grinning and her eyes a rolling in the back of her head. 

I just chuckled and fixed myself up " I will, I'll just change and be there"

"you have six and a half minute to be here" she really is a fan of half minute space time. what's with half minute anyways? I should ask her about that later.

it only took me five minutes to fix myself before I fly down stairs just to get in the allotted time that Sahara gives. This whole other realm studies is making my nerves on edge like knowing it will be one of the best things that can happen in my stupid life. 

If Sahara didn't found me what could have happen to me? Never mind, thinking things like that will only upset her. 

"Your just in time, I'm done preparing our breakfast table" 

"what? wait, didn't you tell me that I'll help on making today's breakfast?" Isn't it the whole point of six and half minute rush?

"silly, I'm already done cooking when I check up on you"

"Argggh. That's not nice Sahara"

She just laugh and sit on her place while I sit across her. It is our usual set up every morning.

"First is the Dark Realm or also known as the Void World" she started as she cut her pancakes into pieces. "Just like what I said last night It doesn't mean they were all bad, they also have kingdoms which was divided into seven mighty kingdoms and five states that are not part of any kingdoms. You know rules and balance kept them peaceful" 

"Magnus is the most powerful realm thou because that world is like the union of every realm, Well aside from the Spirit Realm who kept their selves to themselves they have the strict rules and ritual that must be attained every now and then especially when forming a contract in the other realms" She continued as she finished her foods. 

" Can you wild berries and Fuji flowers, it's kinda out of stock and I still have to check on the new born baby to see if there are any implications, we will discuss more later," she gives me a meaningful look that I couldn't understand but I just nodded my head in approval.
