I woke up to the first rays of the morning coming through the blinds of the room. I looked around to see that Maxim's bed was empty! I thought that I was the only early riser! I quickly got dressed and headed towards the lobby after making sure I was still wearing the talisman to hide Vanessa. I saw Maxim heading towards me, dripping with sweat. "Have a good run?" I asked.
She nodded. "Go ahead and get some food from the diner down the street. I'm going to take a quick shower then meet you there."
"Okay." I did as directed. It was a beautiful day, so I enjoyed the scenery for a bit as I walked to the diner. I entered and was welcomed by a heavenly scent of waffles wafted towards me!
