Chapter Four Aggie “The handing over of things has nothing to do with hands.”—Aggie Manifesto the Great stared into the dark. He couldn’t see a thing except for a few flecks of light through the porous hemp sack shoved over his head. He huffed, inhaling the hemp fumes, and stumbled. Tork grabbed his arm, ignoring Maisie’s “typical” look. “Must we go through this every time?” said Manifesto the Great. “Imperative,” said Maisie with a rough, steading gesture about his back. “I am the leader, you know,” said Manifesto the Great. “Only in the city,” snapped Tork. Manifesto the Great stumbled on. “I liked it better when she snuck into the city,” he muttered. “Yeah, well, that’s not gonna happen, is it?” snapped Tork. “Pulling the hemp over that Librarian’s eyes always tickled me.”
