Only then did he notice that everyone, including Meng Feng, were kneeling towards a handsome man who was sitting in a chair looking at something with bowed head.The man seemed to be about forty, wearing a yellow robe. No need to guess, this must the emperor.
Seeing that no one noticed him standing, he hurried get into his knees and put his head to the ground. He have no intention to challenge the imperial power. Although he could kill everyone here with a flick of finger, he was not insane enough to do that. He just want to live a peaceful life with no care. So it is better to go with the flow for now.
After a while, he heard "Everyone can stand"
Seeing everyone getting up, Meng Yu also followed. He kept his head down while counting all the people hidden in the room. He already know from movies that emperor would have highly trained hidden guard, so it must be them. But what made him curious was another person that was there behind the wall.
It seems like the emperor's purpose for calling them into the palace was not simple. He controlled a yarn, while staring at the pastries at the emperor's table. He doesn't know how the pasties at this timeline would taste like.
While Meng Yu's head is filled with pastries, the emperor finally put down what was in his hand and looked at everyone. Whenever his eyes passed on someone they would become tense and when his gaze passed they would become relaxed. Meng Yu also felt his gaze but as he had his head bowed down, no one can see his expression. Soon the gaze moved to everyone and finally stopped at Meng Xi for a while.
Then the emperor looked at Meng Feng and said "Prime Minister is really fortunate to have such a good children. All of them look like a dragon and phoenix among men and women."
Meng Feng immediately bowed and said "Your majesty overpraised. Its these children's nine life time fortune to get the praise of your majesty."
The emperor laughed and said "Prime minister does not need to be so polite. Seeing these children today made us really happy. We had asked Xiao Xong to prepare some playthings for these children, take them back when you leave."
Meng Feng looked at all the children and said

The emperor waved his hand asking them to leave. Meng Yu was the last to leave, before he left his eyes moved towards the wall where the person stood for a second, before he walked out of the room.
He can already guess the only purpose the emperor called them was to let that person examine them. As for who that person and what his purpose was, he would know soon.
After everyone walked out of the room, the emperor stood up and walked towards the wall and pressed a switch..............
