Edwina's POV...
I didn't know how else to thank Xander for making my bid without me necessarily asking. The s*x made my bones straighten up, and the quick bath I had made me feel refreshed altogether. When he went to clean himself up, my nose found the laid platter of chicken and salad. My stomach growled in excitement at the sight of it. Without thinking, I dipped my hand into it, eating with relish.
His throat clearing got my attention as he moved towards me. "Didn't think to wait up for me?"
I gulped down hard on some chewed part, "I'm really sorry, I just couldn't resist the aroma. I'm so hungry." I said, tearing another part, chewing on it rapidly as it reached my mouth.
"Where were you all through the day?" He questioned, his expression morphing into something I couldn't explain.
