Fractured Light

Scene 1: Gallery of Blood The diamond’s explosion tore through Julian’s gallery like a supernova. Staria collapsed, clutching her stomach as crimson bloomed across her dress. Jason fought through raining glass and screaming patrons toward her. Agent Rossi blocked him, rifle smoking. “Contract stands, 7382. If that baby has gray eyes…” He nodded at Staria’s writhing form. “…the bullet’s already loaded.” Jason slammed Rossi against a splintered Monet. “SHE DIES, I BURN YOUR WORLD!” “Then save her,” Rossi spat. “The ambulance outside? It’s yours… if you swear fealty to the FBI. On your child’s life.” Scene 2: Death’s Bargain Ambulance, En Route to Hospital Staria’s pulse fluttered. Jason cradled her, pressing his scarf to her stomach wound. Her skin turned waxen. “Stay with me, stellina,” he begged. “Paint our future. Scream it!” Her eyes rolled back. Flatline. Jason’s vision detonated: An endless void. Staria floating in a starless sea, her belly still rounded. Carson’s ghost materialized, diamond shards orbiting him like a crown. “She’s crossing over, cousin. But I can anchor her… for a price.” “WHAT PRICE?” Jason roared into the void. Carson’s smile cut like glass. “My resurrection. A body to wear. Yours… or the baby’s.” Scene 3: The Unholy Surgery Abandoned Warehouse Jason swerved the ambulance into a derelict fish market. Staria’s breath grew shallow. The vision screamed: Cut her womb open. The diamond’s power is in hernow. He laid her on a stainless-steel table. Sterilized a knife with vodka. Whispered: “Forgive me.” The blade parted skin: - Muscle, fascia, the pearlescent curve of her uterus. - Blood pooled, thick and dark. -A diamond shard lodged near the baby’s head glowed with stolen power. Jason pried it out. As the shard left Staria’s body… The baby slithered into his hands. Silent. Blue. Lifeless. Scene 4: First Breath, First Curse Jason pressed his mouth to the infant’s lips. Breathed. Nothing. Carson’s ghost shimmered over the table. “Her heart needs… a spark.” He pressed a phantom finger to the diamond shard in Jason’s palm. Lightning arced. The shock jolted the baby. A wail split the air. Jason sobbed, swaddling her in his shirt. Her eyes opened Storm-gray. Just like Staria’s. Carson’s laugh echoed. “The gift lives. Rossi will hunt her. I will wait.” Scene 5: The Safe House Siege Staria woke screaming in a damp basement. Jason pressed their daughter to her chest. “Elara,” Staria whispered. “Her name is Elara.” Jason showed her the diamond shard now dull, inert. “Carson’s soul is trapped in this. He needs a body to return. Rossi needs proof Elara’s ‘gift’ is active to kill her." Boots pounded upstairs. Rossi’s voice: “Asset 7382! Surrender the child!" Staria gripped Jason’s blood-crusted knife. “Take Elara. Run.” “I won’t leave you” “YOU MUST!” She kissed him, salty with tears. “I’ll paint you a path… one last time.” Cliffhanger: The Final Canvas As Jason fled through a sewer tunnel with Elara, Staria faced Rossi in the basement. “Where’s the child?” he demanded. Staria dipped her fingers in her own wound-blood. “I’ll show you.” She painted on the concrete wall: Rossi aiming at a gray-eyed toddler. Jason leaping in front of the bullet. Elara’s scream igniting every diamond in Manhattan—shatering every window, every screen, every gun. Rossi raised his rifle. Prophetic bullsh” The vision moved. Painted-Jason lunged off the wall, spectral hands seizing Rossi’s throat. Staria smiled. “I’m not the prophet anymore, Agent. She is.”
